Shannon was so helpful during a very difficult time. She was able to answer all my questions and make me comfortable with the decision to move mom there.
Visiting Grandma here was amazing. Not only was it welcoming to me but also to my fur baby. They're completely dog friendly. My grandma and her friends loved seeing Bruno.
My mom has been at Addington Place for about a year and a half. We have been very happy with the care she has received there. The staff are very friendly and caring. There are many activities to keep the residents busy. They have Bingo, crafts, movies and entertainment. Both of the heads of nursing ,Brittany and Jasmine, have shown great care for my mom. We have also been pleased with care from the med techs, care givers and kitchen staff. Addington has been an overall good experience for us.
I recently came in and toured with Shannon and loved the facility. It was beautifully decorated, smelled amazing, and all the residents were engaged and seemed truly happy. There were plenty of activities for residents to enjoy. The staff seemed readily available and helpful, especially Shannon!
The staff are all welcoming & helpful. We appreciate what you do for our seniors & the community. The wine & food event educational & tasty!
After researching many assisted living facilities, in person, it seemed at the time that Addington checked all the boxes for my elderly father. I moved him in at the end of October of 2024, I moved him out in December of 2025 after much consideration and feedback from his hospice team. They sell a good package when you go to learn about the facility. At that time the place seemed to be well maintained and staffed. We were told numerous times for my dad to hit his call button for ANYTHING! After my dad hitting his call button and nobody coming, he would yell for help. Addington deemed that inappropriate. They said he needed memory care. I would go to his room and find that his call button wasn't on his wrist, or one time was hidden behind his television, that's a staff issue, not a resident issue. The director, Maggie, would say she needs to look into it without ever resolving the issue. Dads' hospice care team came in and found him sleeping in his bed mid-morning and soaked from urine from his waist to his knees. Staff claimed they just toileted him. The food was subpar at best, often serving the same thing over and over again. It seemed like more money was spent on community activities to promote the place and it could have been used to increase salaries of the help. Laundry was often delivered to the wrong room or shoved in a closet or drawer with no care who it belonged to. Many inpatient or inexperienced staff on site when dealing with elderly people. Saving grace was their nurse, Brittany. She is an angel!! There was other staff that truly cared but the rest of them it was just a job. In the end, their lack of care was their reason to ask for more money for extra care and move my dad to memory care. Look elsewhere for your loved one.
Our family placed our 99 year old relative in Addington of Clarkston for a period of two months for rehab/recovery. Addington Place of Clarkston was chosen by us from many positive reviews for providing excellent care and peace of mind for our family member. Let me say that, indeed, they went out of their way to provide just that and more! Friendly faces, tremendous staff at EVERY level and sympathetic care relieved our minds at a difficult time for all of us. Cost, varied and nutritious meals, cleanliness, activities and particularly the staff were there for us every day! We highly recommend them and would not hesitate ever to place a family member there for care!
My Mom lived here for almost three years. Addington Place is all about the money, always looking for ways to raise fees. Weekends are the worst, short staffed or agency people and lack of care. They did have some Excellent staff members Like Joyce, Kim, Diamond, Angel, and Nurse Brittany, and Director Maggie, but the past Director Tina was terrible. I went everyday so I know what goes on more so than some people who worked there, as I talked to the people who live here. I will say that they had a couple staff members that there is a special place in Hell as they are sadistic and or Lazy. I really want to say their names, but will show restraint. I waited a few months before writing this as I did not want to say anything in poor taste. I will say anyone bringing in a new family member to try and get a two year deal as I had the rates increase of $761.00 in one year and close to $500. the next year. At the end of my Mom's Life they did show her respect which made me happy. There were some good times like the Christmas Party, and Happy Hour and entertainment but food is sub par and many times run out of food items that did not make their truck.
