American House Dearborn Heights has been outstanding for my family. The leadership and care here truly set the standard. Michelle’s leadership is exceptional — she is highly response and genuinely invested in the well‑being of her residents. You can feel the difference her guidance makes throughout the entire community. I also want to recognize Clara, the swing‑shift supervisor, whose hard work, patience and concern were easy to see. She goes above and beyond to make sure residents are safe, supported, and cared for. Her dedication is obvious, and it brings real peace of mind to families like…

I’m grateful for everything they do and highly recommend American House Dearborn Heights to anyone looking for a place where their loved one will be treated with dignity and kindness.
My Dad stays there, and when I went to visit, he was staying a one-room one-bathroom unit that looks like a homeless shelter. It has a bed, a table, 2 chairs, and a TV. I ate with my dad and the food reminded me of the food they serve in in poverty-level children's schools. When I call me dad to check on him his phone goes to voicemail, so I have to call someone to go to his room to call me. He never goes out to get fresh air unless I am with him. Other than that, he goes to the cafeteria to eat three times a day and goes back to his. If he oversleeps and misses the meal time, he goes without…

He was living in a nice 2-bedroom two 2-bath with a kitchen, living room, and dining area. Very nice. My dad's wife has dementia and attacked him. I am his only son. No one told me. I live in California, where I work and they hide it from me. His wife attacked him and hit him with a cane, bruising his ankle. I found out this year. The wife's family moved my dad to this one-room homeless shelter from the two-bedroom apartment. They told me his only son was left all the emergency call list by my dad's wife's family. I know have to go to court to be able to receive any medical services for my dad. This place is horrible.
My Mom absolutely loves this place. Way better than the reviews. The Medical Team is very attentive and takes great care of my mom.
The cleaning staff etc are very kind and friendly. The kitchen staff are attentive to different needs and friendly. The administration isn't the friendliest. You will see them at their best when you're shopping for a facility. They have a lot of entertaining experiences for those who choose to be involved The medical side is leased out to another company and if one needs medical backup I'd recommend doing your own research on that company. They cover many facilities. Theres a lot online. Very little medical there. The boss nurse is a LPN ( when she's there).
The manger was great, the place was clean. The food wasn't good and the kitchen staff played loud music that was not appropriate for elderly people.
My major problem has been receiving my mail and the parking is a nightmare.
I liked the staff and the people there at American House Dearborn Heights. I liked the cleanliness of it, I liked the peacefulness of it, the way that they looked out for the residents, and how they have them communicating with each other. They can meet up in the community room and they can interact and not get lonely. They are interactive with the residents. I like how beautiful it is, the comfort of it, the peacefulness of it, the way it's decorated, and the flowers on the outside. It's like a real home to me. The food smelled good because when I went there, they were having dinner, but I didn't get to see it or taste it or anything. The rooms were set up very friendly towards people who could be slightly disabled or elderly. I liked the cleanliness of it. I liked the way it was decorated, the colors that they chose, and they're spacious. There's a lot of room and space for them to put things and decorate, put the furniture if they have furniture and stuff. They were furnished and some were unfurnished. The room that she showed me that was furnished was nice, but it was also spacious if people chose to bring their own furniture. I liked it.
My mom has been coming to American House for respite care. The staff is very pleasant and understanding. She is well cared for and I don't need to worry when I bring her to this facility. Thank you.
