I have lived here for almost 3 years. I like the people and the activities here each month including Happy Hours, Family Nights and craft classes.

If you or someone you love is looking for independent living, consider American Sterling Woods Community. I have been to many locations and by far one of the best.First Julie Nobles the executive director gave me a full tour of the facilities. The apartments are great size, full sized kitchens appliances in apartment washers and dryers and great amenities. They have almost everything in house, including Physical therapy, salon services, religious services provided by many denominations. Located at 16 & Van Dyke you are close to shopping, parks, and all the conveniences of independent living.

American House Sterling Woods seemed nice, and I think it would fulfill my brother's needs, but I'm not sure if my brother is able to move into a place like that where he would be living with other people because he's been living alone for quite a while. The staff seemed very helpful. The meal preparation and the eating areas were very nice. I looked at a one-bedroom, and it was very nice. The kitchen, the living room, the bathroom, and the bedroom were nice. It looked like a small hotel room.
The food is not very good. Try to be more accurate with the menu,be more diverse with the menu,when you ask for something like extra gravy or sauce you should expect it, but here it's hit or miss.cut down on the volume of chicken they serve,bigger portions if you ask for it. The staff are very helpful and that has been nice.
