4.3 · 161 reviewsWe only spent 10 weeks at America House before Mom passed away but the medical staff was fantastic. They took care of my the best way they could and the management staff was just as good thank you Kristy Amber, and all the rest of the America staff I would recommend America’s house to anybody that has to put their parents in assisted living. It’s way better than a nursing home 100 times over thank you so much, America House Joy.
I just moved in May 7 and Everything was amazing the culinary director Tiffany made ribs with baked beans w/ hamburger meat and sweet corn THE meal was so delicious I called my sister and told the meals was very good! Kristy was very helpful and get the job done Amber was so sweet and helpful with the tour she answers all the questions. Makeba was so nice and explained activities I love bingo as well this was a great choice!
The apartments were not updated.Management of the apartment itself is good,however, the Contracted-third-party medical team Influenced my decision-About this facility. They call themselves medical and there’s nothing medical about them. Very rude, not professional. If this facility contract with a new medical company, It would definitely be an upgrade. We Removed our family member immediately because of the medical team Not because of the Apartment unit. We found another location with real medical staffing. My family member/former tenant would push the call button and didn’t show up. I went…

We Removed our family member immediately because of the medical team Not because of the Apartment unit. We found another location with real medical staffing. My family member/former tenant would push the call button and didn’t show up. I went to the medical office and observed them sitting around eating. One of them could have responded but chose not to. This happened a few times. Knowledgeable Medical staff is lacking at this facility. They have no knowledge with residence requiring CPAP care.. There were other issues with Other third-party company contracted with this facility. You’ve been warned.

I moved my mom from another assisted living that was closing. Administrator Kristy was very supportive and welcoming with moving and settling my mom into American House Westland Joy. The staff are extremely supportive to both residents and family. I’ve observed the building and my mom’s room to be kept clean and maintained well. I’ve observed frequent offered activities, along with engagement and attentiveness by staff. Residents, including my mom, seem to enjoy living at American House Westland Joy.
My mother has lived here for three years and I must say I’ve had nothing but the best experience. My mother has made so many friends since her arrival. The staff at American House & The Medical Team feel like our family. Kristy and Amber have made many changes since their arrival and I see an improvement in the building as well as the happiness of the community. My mother absolutely enjoys all of the fun activities that Marie plans for them and loves going on little adventure adventures in the American House Bus. My wonderful Mother is a Finicky eater, but the culinary department is quick to meet her needs an offer Alternatives. Mom always raves about Jamie and says that he Make sure her room is nice and tidy. They have a therapy room upstairs, which was very convenient when Mom had a fall a few months ago, Also, when mom fell, we got to come across some angels in disguise on the second floor, The Medical Team Has been amazing there is somebody there from their care staff 24 hours a day, They were able to start my mom’s care the day that she arrived home from rehab no questions asked, Lisa and Kayla We’re very kind and helpful and made the process easy. Even though my mom is not receiving services Anymore all of the girls from the care team frequently stop in and check on her and give her hugs. Overall, I couldn’t be happier, If your loved one is in need of New family, Friends, And great care this is the place for them.
I will update this review when some final things are handled, but I would not recommend this place. All the people saying the staff is compassionate and caring is a joke. It’s a ploy to get you in there & once your loved one is, you will never see some of these staff members again. And if your loved one dies, don’t expect anybody to reach out or care! And if you’re expecting BASIC care at a MINIMUM from the med team, you will be very disappointed. I will update this review with details soon! BEWARE!
The staff is wonderful ! They really care for the residence. The Kitchen staff, front office staff and Medical team are kind and go out of their way to make life there fun and happy! Chef Tiffany cooks yummy pork chops with sweet potatoes, chicken fettuccine Alfredo, and many other dishes.
The property is nice and the building is clean . Just trying to figure out the waiver program.
