I have placed several Seniors at Birchwood Meadows and they do an incredible job of making sure all their needs are met. The home is clean, food is good and the care staff are very caring. I wouldn't hesitate to place your loved one with Birchwood Meadows!
Worst place ever!! I wish I would have never placed my father in this facility and I feel sorry for the other sweet patients I got to know that are still there. There are only 2 competent employees that both work 1st shift. Annie and Darlene are phenomenal!! Their employees steal food over and over again to the point that they run out of food before its time for them to go shopping again. This was brought to their attention and continually kept happening. Their 2nd shift worker is very rude to most of the patients and even the workers don't like her. She talks down to most of them and luckily…
She talks down to most of them and luckily my father still has his mind to tell me how he was being treated and it was uncalled for. She is a very large person and one patient slipped out of his wheelchair and under the kitchen table and she couldn't even get under the table to get him out. She is a danger to the patients in the facility. If there was a fire or a tornado there would be no way that she could get them out safely. My father was also not being given his meds like he should have been. When I moved him out they handed me 2 garbage bags full of medication for him but yet the week before had called me and told me that he didn't have any meds left and needed refills. This place is very unprofessional and have no clue what they are doing!! I highly suggest you do not put your parents in their care. I will be filing a complaint with the state of Michigan on all of this for what has happened to my dad while he was in their care because no matter how many times I called the manager she did absolutely NOTHING!
