Let's first start off with I realize these places, as with every where else is short staffed. The outdated surroundings isn't as concerning as the care. I know there are people here who care about the patients and work hard but there are also a handful of people who just don't care. DO NOT PICK THIS TYPE OF JOB AS A PROFESSION IF YOU ARE NOT COMPASIONATE AND UNDERSTANDING AND WILLING TO DO YOUR JOB. People depend on these places and have no other options. DO NOT PICK THIS TYPE OF JOB AS A PROFESSION IF YOU ARE NOT COMPASIONATE AND UNDERSTANDING AND WILLING TO DO YOUR JOB. People depend on these places and have no other options. I don't want to have to worry about the safety and care of my loved one. Only being able to shower twice a week and never having ice in the machine can be somewhat bothersome. Hydration is so important and affects the elderly in many ways. I also feel some of the staff like to brush things under the rug instead of dealing with issues. Many are caring and helpful and make sure things happen but I think there is plenty of room for improvement. I will be watching as I think we all need to be diligent in being sure no matter where we place our loved ones that they are cared for, heard and safe.
My husband was there for a short time.He was abused by a nurse throwing his legs onto the bed after 7 surgeries on his hip after a hip replacement and cobalt poisoning.Nurse was aware of what she did and could not be found after the incident. My daughter and I told everyone in there that he needed medical attention.Nobody would listen even refused to give him anything for pain.We called facility doctor.Soon as doctor walked in he noticed that his hip was dislocated and called ambulance. He was taken to McLaren hospital where they said they put it back in place. They sent him back to the nursing…

The nurses and CNAs are devoted to their patients. They are under staffed!
My grandma was got transferred here yesterday for her rehab. She was picked up this morning and taken out of the facility. She called us this morning saying she was left in her pee all night. I get night shift is tough and places are understaffed but that is incomprehensible. This is NOT the place to send your vulnerable loved ones. Social worker hailey is the sweetest, the doctor is so nice but I can’t say the same for who they hire for nightshift. Not doing your job when it can affect someone’s health means you are not working in the right field.
Our families experience here was so horrific that I don’t believe for a second the two most recent reviews are legit. The neglect was so instant that our loved one was here for less than 24 hours. Every single worker here, and the horrible owners, need to take a good hard look in the mirror and think how they would feel if their family member was being treated this way. Also it’s so outdated! If you love your family member DO NOT send them here
Staff is usually pleasant enough, but if you need assistance, you will wait. Often for an unreasonable amount of time. Not very happy with the care my loved one has received there.
Our Mother has dementia and was labeled violent by an assisted living home where she was sent by the hospital. That made it difficult to find a facility that would take her. Dimondale will take tough patients and they have done well by her. She does refuse showers and getting cleaned up when she has accidents. We have worked with them to figure out ways to work on that and she is improving. From everything I have seen, they do care about their patients and have good programs and good food. I know my mother has never missed a meal! When you see a patient who looks neglected, please keep in mind that they may be dealing with a difficult patient refusing care.
Sister was just transferred from elsewhere after her recent hospitalization upon a friend's reccomendation. Initial impressions after first week are: 1) Seems to be well-staffed in all patient care positions and even have 6 people working in "quality of life" (activities in other nursing homes) 2) All staff met so far have been "bright eyed and bushy tailed:" friendly, positive, professional and polite. 3) The usual questions and concerns, so far, have all been addressed promptly, once the correct person was contacted. In my case that was Haleigh who provides Social Service to this hall. 4) The only down side has been the non-user-friendly phone tree that assumes you already know who you need and what their extension is. Will update as time goes by.
