After my 98-year-old mother and my brother—who suffered a stroke—lost their apartment in the American House fire, my wife and I had to find them an assisted living facility with a two-bedroom apartment as quickly as possible. We visited quite a few places, and Maple Heights was by far the best fit. The apartment is spacious, they each have their own bathroom, and every room has its own HVAC unit, allowing them to control their temperatures individually. They’ve now been living there for a little over a month, and I can honestly say that neither they nor we have a single complaint. My brother has diabetes and requires regular blood sugar checks and insulin, all of which are handled by the on-site nursing staff—who have been consistently kind, attentive, and professional. The administration team is also readily available and quick to respond to any issues or requests. If you’re looking for an assisted living facility for yourself or a loved one, I highly recommend giving Maple Heights a serious look.

I would highly recommend Maple Heights to anyone that is seeking living arrangements for a senior in need of a retirement community. When seeking senior living accommodations for my mother, I looked at 7-8 local senior living communities around the Dearborn, Allen Park, Brownstown, Woodhaven & Livonia areas. Maple Heights was far and away the best choice. The meals, 3 per day, are excellent. They are served in a formal dining room with table linen’s, linen napkins, and servers serving the 3 course meals. The food is very good and prepared there. One of the communities I looked at stated they made “homemade” meals but while I was touring the facility I viewed Gordon Food Service premade meals being brought in by their “chief”. Maple Heights offers excellent activities that are enjoyed by all of the residents. There is always something to do for anyone. They have a medical floor as well. Though not a nursing home, they offer a third party medical service for any medical needs a resident may have. What’s nice about that is you can add any service on as your loved one needs them. It’s not a one set price for all medical services that you may not need. All utilities are included at Maple Heights except for cable tv. The most important thing for me is that it’s very clean. The smell of a nursing home or some retirement communities is not present either. The apartments are very nice with most have terraces to sit on. The staff at Maple Heights are excellent. They are always there for any cares or concerns about any of there tenants living there. And they listen and are extremely kind and patient with the residents. If you need to place a loved one in a retirement community, and you do not want to worry about your loved one daily, Maple Heights is the community.
