This place is horrible, I wouldn’t send a loved one here under any circumstances. In the month that my Grampa was in there I seen the worst care I have ever witnessed in my life. He was always in the same clothes for days, sometimes 3. His face wasn’t getting wiped. He wasn’t getting washed up in the mornings, hopefully the night people were doing something but from what I witnessed I highly doubt it. I cleaned him up the last day he was there and it took 6 washcloths to get dried food out of his beard. The wildest thing tho is they informed me he wouldn’t eat that day…. When I got there that…

When I got there that day at noon he was acting strange and not like himself I tried to address it to the staff and they just said “yes he’s been like that all morning” with no concern to do anything. I gave him a drink of his water and he started choking on it and I called for help and the same nurse just came in the room to holler at me that he’s not supposed to have regular water. I told her I didn’t fill the cup and it was his labeled cup. She stormed out without apologies, and avoided the room for the next 5 hours I was there, because she “didn’t have the stuff to run labs”. Luckily around 5 my father his brother and my mother showed up with the same concerns and magically one of there staff is in the room doing those labs, and assuring us it was nothing to worry about. I went to go refill his cup with more thickened liquids and the next nurse I found was getting after me bc he’s been off thickened liquids for a week, I tried to explain to her what had happened prior with him choking and she informed me that I was wrong and then was questioning me on what I fed him and was telling me he needs puréed food which I knew I fed him the food that the staff gave me. None of the staff are on the same page. Anywho the infection wasn’t just nothing he got sent out the next day for emergency surgery after every staff member here didn’t seem to care whatsoever about how much pain he was in. That man is a good man. He deserves BASIC CARE AND BASIC NEEDS TO BE MET! He is a veteran, a good father, and a great Grampa this is absolutely heartbreaking that your staff doesn’t care about people. If zero stars was an option I’d press it.

My wife Joyce was transfer to Medilodge of Mt Pleasant. On Oct 28 2025. She spent 8 weeks at the facility. When she first arrived she could hardly get out of her bed. They calmed her continuly making it easier for me to leave with no worries. Notably individual were, Chris Moon in the front office who checked in on Joyce daily and helped manage her doctor appointments and transportation. She had interaction with many staff during her stay, would like mention several by name. Joyce especially like Alex, Katie, Nikki. Angie, Jamie, Jim and Katelynn in Therphy. She enjoyed her stay and is thankful for all the help she received. She also appreciated all the hugs she received from the staff that made her feel right at home. She was also grateful to the other residents that calmed her during many talks. Definitely would recommend your facility for individuals needing rehabilitation therapy. Also you made me and our dog "Reba" feel like part of the family during our many visit. Again from me and Joyce thank you for your assistance. The staff seemed to treat the residents like family.

Today marks the one year anniversary of my arrival here at Medilodge. When I arrived I was lonely and afraid. I didn't know anybody in Michigan. Coming here was a very traumatizing experience for me. For the past year I have dealt with depression. The staff here has been wonderful with helping me deal with my depression. Sometimes I know they have no idea that they've probably saved my life several times. The Medilodge staff have been my doctors, nurses, CNAs, therapists, and most of all, my friends. Thank you all for your caring and loving support. Thank you for helping me get through all of…

Thank you for helping me get through all of the things I didn't think I could survive. Thank you for being my family when I had none. Thank you for making me laugh when I felt like crying. Thank you for making me wanna live when I really wanted to die. I owe my Medilodge family for carrying me through my trauma. For making my dog Zeus feel comfortable being here. We are both grateful for the professionalism, courtesy, and love that you've shown to the both of us. I didn't know where my life was headed when I got here. Because of the staff, I am no longer lonely and afraid. Thank you all for taking that weight off my shoulders. It means a lot to Zeus and I. We love you guys.

I am a current patient at Medilodge Mount Pleasant MI and it is poorly run and managed. Other patients are allowed a coffee pot in their room but I am not, they have dropped me from their Hoyer device back down and head first from about 5 feet up and was told their was nothing I could do about it. The manager Bobbie said the staff had been retrained but that didn't help with shoulder injuries I suffered. There are many other reasons you should avoid this place at all costs. Also, I have had them ask me to open packages in front of staff, I have had items come up "Missing", I have been rudely treated by some of the staff and I have noticed they get rid of people who care and keep the ones who are only in for the money. This is an addendum written July 31 2025. I am still in the facility at this time and conditions have not improved and some have gotten worse. The nursing staff and CNA's are kind and caring and sympathetic but cannot affect change. Other departments deserve kudos, Therapy, Maintenance, Activities, Housekeeping and Transportation receive high marks. The problem lies with spending money on what I see as non-essentials rather than patient care. The "doctors" they have on staff do not listen to my concerns and have completely messed up my medications that I am finally starting to get over. The kitchen receives low marks overall. The names of the senior medical staff are Dr. Garrett Smith and NP-C Valarie and they will lie to you.

This place is a joke. The residents are poorly taken care of. There are bugs everywhere. The staff is horrible and what good ones they have they show no appreciation for. They belittle and mistreat the residence talk poorly about families and deny ever doing so with a fake smile plastered on their face. The food is horrible its just like jail food. The residents do not get bathed like they should. It's a horrible place to send your loved ones. You have been advised.

* Check the Update as well* Everyone has been so awesome. Someone has always been available for a question or just a friendly conversation. Medilodge has been a great help, with excellent staff, that are very attentive. I also, somewhat work in the same field of caregivers. So, when I witness them treating their clients like human beings that means a lot to me, We all deserve compassion,Thank you so much! *UPDATE, May 2025* -- I am so distraught and just in awe right now. But, I had to add this update....to simply say....... I don't feel the same way anymore. I won't go into too many details, just know that I wrote that last post very early in the game! I will say that I am sooooo, grateful to God though, that we were finally able to move her out, into our own home, Sept 2024! Try Jesus, everyday! God bless!

If I could give it a 0, I would. Ask them how many people they have fired because they speak out against what's really going on there.

Remember this is a for-profit company. If a corner can be cut it will be. They have yet to keep an infection control nurse for a year. A few good eggs here but i don't think it's worth the money.
