I am a patient at Oakland Manor in Pontiac Mi. It is a hidden gem. It is a Skilled Nursing center. My husband & I are both recovering from RSV. We were too sick to go home. The staff is wonderful, compassionate, fun. The food is delicious. Not hospital food. It’s nourishing so you can get better. I’ve been caregiving my husband for 5 years because of being on the dementia road sad to say. & for me it’s been like a resort. My husband is in a separate room so I can rest & just visit him. The nurses wheel him down here for us to visit while they’re literally running to care for everyone else.…

The nurses wheel him down here for us to visit while they’re literally running to care for everyone else. Plus he has a bad balance problem that gets worse in hospital & it takes 3 nurses to get him to bathroom! They cheer because they did it! They should! It’s an older building but everything works. I was afraid my husband wouldn’t be able to walk out of here to be with me but the Pt staff has him walking like before he came. So we will both be able to go home again. We are both 89 years old & are so very grateful that we still have each other with the help of this facility Thank you so much for this extra time we will have together. We are forever grateful. Great staff. Took great care of me I would definetly recommend them. Physical therapy definitely worked worked wonders for me.
When my father arrived at Oakland Manor after having a fall at home he was barely able to stand and walk without assistance. After about four weeks of therapy I have noticed my father’s balance improve and now he can stand and walk small distances on his own. Niko and the staff at Oakland Manor also made sure to remind him to not attempt to walk too far without assistance for his safety during recovery. The only thing I think could be better is the communication between the staff and family about the patients therapy plans, but I would recommend this facility for anyone in need of therapy and…

Medical Care is very good. Physical and occupational therapy is excellent. The staff was very supportive and interested in my well-being. It is located next to McLaren Oakland hospital in the heart of downtown Pontiac. Parking can be an issue at times. There are no convenience services such as hair salon or laundry.
My mom has been at Oakland Manor following a life-threatening illness and multiple surgeries that has required extensive skilled nursing care. She has received excellent care and advocacy from Nico, the day nurses, her physical therapists, her occupational therapists, and her day nurses aids and assistants. Despite HAP trying to kick her out early as often as they possibly can to save a buck while she can't fully walk or live independently or care for herself or manage her own toilet concerns, the team at Oakland Manor has fought and advocated for her tirelessly, documenting everything meticulously and doing their damndest to ensure that she receives the care she needs rightfully covered by insurance as she continues to recover from a near-death illness and grievous injury that has required serious care. The only negative feedback we'd have for the facility isn't really an Oakland Manor problem, it's a larger issue of staffing ratios and quality of available nursing assistants in the Detroit Metro (and I suspect in many areas nation wide). Sadly the night time and weekend staff aren't as good at their work and are often more careless, less skilled. I do think many people become nursing assistants because there's a big need, but they do it for the money and not for the interest in caring for people. But again, I don't blame Oakland Manor for that. We ran into that issue at the hospital as well - even in ICU.
Family member was sent here after major surgery. First impression-Dirty, dingy, peeling wallpaper, no parking. Second-the doctor thought he knew more than her surgeons instructions. Refused to provide the written care. After 72 hours, surgeon got her out of their. I personally would refuse care at this facility.
Although Nursing Homes are a place where people are to be nurtured and cared for, Oakland County Manor Skilled Nursing & Rehab was a place where my loved one was mistreated, physically abused and left alone for hours by the nursing staff and the "physical therapist". My loved one was admitted to this place 3/4/2025 until 3/7/2025. However, AFTER I found out from my loved one that a nurse had thrown an object at my loved one and was being verbally aggressive towards my loved one, I checked my loved one out of this place. How dare you throw something at a vulnerable individual and have the nerve to get verbally aggressive with MY LOVED ONE. I swear Oakland County Manor Skilled Nursing & Rehab is not the place to send your loved because they will mistreat your loved one and place fear in the patient. Overall, the mistreatment suffered by my loved one at this nursing home qualifies as Elder Abuse and I do not appreciate this. Please have lawyers, advocates and family members form together and seek justice if you or your loved one suffers mistreatment at Oakland Manor or any other facility that promises to nurture and care for your loved one. Afterall, nobody deserves to be mistreated as it is unlawful and goes against GOD's wishes.
This facility small in nature but an excellent skilled nursing rehab center. My Father was taken care of everyday room clean and great rehab personnel. Activity coordinator Tracey excellent. All of Staff very helpful, professional, care about the patients. Great Administration from Kay.Bryan, Barabara, Amber can't squeeze the name all the staff including the nurses CENA's. Highly recommended!!!
