the staff at pineview cottage actually knows my husband. they ask about his kids, remember what he likes, and honestly seem to enjoy spending time with him instead of just going through the motions.
Scam artists. Despite it’s beauty, This facility is poorly managed and intent on scamming people in delicate and vulnerable situations. I came to the facility to inquire about moving my father there. His medical condition is not that of a typical resident of these types facilities, and I made that very clear during my interview process. I was assured by the director that they could accommodate him, despite not having any medical review. I told them that I was new to the process, and had never moved him from his current living situation. Nonetheless, I was pressured to sign paperwork and put down a $1500 room deposit. Over two weeks later, after consultation with his current facility, Pineview determined that they were not able to accept my father given his unique medical condition. I asked for a return of my room deposit, considering the circumstances, and was told it’s non-refundable. It seems reasonable to me that if I made the call not to move him, I would not be refunded, but this was not my call, it was theirs. I was given false pretenses of care, lied to, and ignored when asking for a discussion on getting a refund.
stayed at pineview cottage with my dad and honestly was blown away by how they actually listen to what people want to do there. he mentioned wanting to get back into woodworking and they had him set up with a project like a week later. that's the kind of place that actually cares.
The biggest thing I've noticed is how consistent the care is. I visit several times a week, and every visit has been the same kind, professional, and attentive staff who genuinely care about the residents. There hasn't been the constant staff turnover or inconsistent care you sometimes hear about, and that gives our family a lot of peace of mind.
The dining program includes residents in menu planning. My mother actually looks forward to meals because she had input on what's being served, and the kitchen accommodates preferences with real enthusiasm.
The staff here know my grandmother personally they greet her by name, ask about her garden club, and one of the aides even brought tomato seedlings after she mentioned missing her vegetable garden.
My brother lives in the memory care wing, and during a recent visit, I watched the activities coordinator work one-on-one with him on a project he enjoyed. That level of individual attention is what we hoped for but weren't sure we'd find.
As a resident here for six months, i can honestly say this place restored my independence. the staff helps when i need it but respects my ability to do things myself. that balance matters more than people realize.
