Affordable, safe, Christian more specific Catholic. Being on the St Edith's campus is also a bonus. [Name removed] the head of maintenance is very caring and goes above and beyond. There have been some issues with the free transportation. Good value overall.

Villa Marie was very nice. It was beautiful and very clean, and the people were very nice. The person who gave me the tour was exceptionally nice. I don't remember her name, but she's very nice. She explained to me very well about what they do, about this and that and the costs, which was excellent. I saw the hallways and where they eat, and it was exceptionally clean and very nice. I didn't see any activities but as I was sitting out in the lobby, a man came out and said he has just had moved in there like a couple of weeks ago and he liked it. The atmosphere was exceptionally nice. If I knew somebody that didn't smoke and was looking for that type of home, I would tell them to fill out an application there. It was just very nice.

They are very welcoming and it's best for an elderly person who is fairly independent and mobile. Also I really like the location. Very close to the hospital. My Mom has fallen a couple times and they've been very attentive The staff is very friendly and helpful. I especially like the maintenance man, [name removed]. He goes above and beyond. It gives me peace that it's Catholic. I love the images of our Blessed Mother on the grounds and how easy it is to take the sidewalk to the church.

My mom has moved into Villa Marie. Everything was great. The whole move was super easy. Getting her in there was really easy. Everyone was really welcoming, and it just couldn't have been easier. Everything was very clean. It was very comfortable. Everything was in really good condition, and it was really a lot like home. It was like it would be at your own house. I have not tried the food myself, but my mom is very happy with it. She definitely likes the laundry service and how great everything was. She can do her own laundry if she wants, but there is someone to do it for them. She was really pleased with that. They also have a hair salon and different doctors come in. She really likes that those things were available.

we toured Villa Marie and we didn't care for it. they don't have an overnight staff, as they all leave at 5-6pm. the dining rooms and common areas can only be accessed via skywalk or breezeway - meaning all the highways are outside in a glass enclosure. the enclosure(s) don't come with heated flooring either. we chose another community because we didn't like the setup of the community, it just didn't have what we were looking for.

We had a good tour with Villa Marie but it was not going to work out because they are not staffed 24/7.

Villa Marie was once a wonderful place. Residents were treated with care and compassion. Maureen and Mike who worked there truly cared about the people living in the facility. Management and COVID however changed everything. No individual should feel like a prisoner in their own home and no one should be threatened with being written up and kicked out! My mother in law lived here for over almost 3 years. I moved her out and I would never recommend anyone placing a family member there ever. Management wants to lock the residents in, throw away the key and pop in for a body count now and then. They have no interest in providing any kind of emotional/mental stimulation nor feel any obligation to enhance what could be the last years of theses seniors lives. The food at Villa Marie is mostly carbs and other prepackaged items. They will say “you get what you play for” but the reality is there are comparable places whose staff care, whose food is nutritious and manage to engage residents while keeping them safe from COVID. Additionally, the area were Villa Marie is located looses electricity all the time. There is a generator but it’s for the kitchen and hallways not the residents rooms. So if you have any medical devices that require internet or electricity you are out of luck. It has happened quite a bit so be ready. Bottom line do yourself a favor and save your loved ones the misery and run as far from this place as possible.

I just moved mom out of Villa Marie. After two years of living there because of the current management team. [Name removed], the current resident manager there now is very difficult to work with and most residents are intimidated by her. Very slow to react to situations needing urgent attention. She communicates by email and will not give out her mobile phone number like her predecessor. If you have something urgent, good luck. The food being served is not the same food that was served when mom initially moved in. Low nutritional value and very inexpensive to make and low quality. Staff members that quit or were fired by management have not been replaced. The rooms are only cleaned every other week and it is not thorough cleaning. The rooms are filthy. If you question anything they do or give feedback, you are immediately targeted. My mother was given a “lease violation” for running into [name removed] with her walker. My mother is 92 and uses a walker for mobility. [Name removed] is a kitchen staff worker who thinks she is in charge most of the time. Very condescending and if she doesn’t like you will create a story about a resident so that they will get a lease violation. 3 lease violations and you have to move out. This has been a common occurrence since residents have been targeted for removal. Many residents are moving out because of this staff member. After finding out from current residents that there were 12 covid cases at Villa Marie, I had to call and ask management point blank, are there any cases. I was told they were not aware of any. This was approximately [date removed] after the entire world new what this virus could do. After I told them that residents told me specifically who had the virus than a letter was sent out to everyone stating that some residents did have the virus. Poor management. If you love your family member, steer clear of this place. Yes, the monthly rates are low but as [name removed] would say, “You get what you pay for, what do you expect for $1940/monthly.” I have contacted upper management at Trinity Health Care and no one there seems to care. [Name removed] is the senior VP and was made aware of everything in this review. All anyone seems to care about is protecting their jobs and reputation and bottom line profits but as far as the residents go, they are at the short end of the list. Pay attention to the corporate response to this review, they will tell me to call them so they can rectify the matter but they won’t. They will pretend to care but they don’t. The prior team at Villa Marie was caring, attentive, prompt and humane. Not this staff!! I hope this review helps things get better at Villa Marie for the residents!!
