****Please Read! Everything I write is the truth and if YOU still decide to send your LOVE one to this business then YOU do not care about him or her. American House Stone is supposed to be Independent living to KEEP from REGISTERING with the State of Michigan as a Licensed Facility as a Nursing Facility. So why does American House sub-contract a company called The Medical Team to assist with residents within their locations with Nursing Assist? Most of the residents there NEED nursing home care. The Medical Team has a high turn over rate and the staff that work for this company has FAILED the very people they should be caring for. Not ALL staff are bad, the worst employee out number the ones that do their job. The employees (some) leave the building all times of the shift, give some residents the wrong medications, have left residents in diapers that was not changed from midnight shift, does not reply to the call buttons or will turn off the residents call buttons and not assist with helping them, residents have fell due to staff no where to be found and does not give breakfast, lunch, or dinner to residents in a timely manner. The employees will sit down in the dining room and eat while the residents who are in their room not able to go to the dining area sit and wait to be served and this could be up to 2 hours later. Medication are not given within the time frame or not giving at all. There is no accountability to the residents. American House is just as guilty and is aware of the complaints from family members that does care about their love ones at the STONE location. The supervisor of the Medical Team, Program Manager of American House, and some staff NEED to have NEGELECT charges against them. Remember all place give you their BEST first impression and then change once they receive the money. All that look GOOD is NOT GOOD. I will say this again, DO NOT put your LOVE one's in ANY of the American House locations. Don't say you wasn't warned
We were not that impressed with American House Stone. On the way, walking up to the facility, it was clear that the pavement was uneven, which would be a trip hazard for anybody who was elderly. Once we got inside, there definitely was a bit of an odor, and in every single hallway they had room fresheners, in the aisles and the hallways. It was not that clean overall. We did eat lunch there and the food was OK. It was like cafeteria food or something. I wouldn't say it was bad, but I wouldn't say it was really good either. We got the tour, and then the staff just handed us over to a resident…

There was no stove in any of the rooms.
My father recently moved into American House Stone. All the staff have been so helpful at helping my dad get acclimated to his new environment. He’s enjoying the three meals a day, activities, and benefiting in numerous ways from all people checking in on him throughout the day. Everyone, from the activities director to the Medical Team are truly wonderful and treat residents with dignity and respect. We are so grateful for American House Stone!
The best part of this location is the fantastic FOOD!!! I've been to 4 places this year and this one out does all the others by far in the food area. This place is very nicely decorated, clean, friendly and helpful personal; very nice rooms and large baths. Call lights are answered promptly (except sometimes at night) and (except for a small ant problem) its great here!
I would recommend to others.
Unfortunately, my Mom was not able to stay at the American House very long due to a number of reasons. However, American House was very supportive. They were great about setting up a medical team and other services. Overall the staff was great . The only concern I did have is that cost of assisted living did not include the distribution of medication , that was a separate cost .
I liked that American House Stone is just one floor so my mother would not have to deal with any stairs or elevators and the price point was important to us. We were fortunate to be able to eat a meal there and my mother, who is very particular, enjoyed the food. There were a lot of options for her. If she didn't want somebody doing her laundry for her, they said that that was no problem and that she could do her own laundry. So, there were things like that, which made her feel more that she was living independently and not reliant on somebody else for everything, which was important to her. She didn't want to feel like she was giving up total control, and they were very willing to work with her on that. Everybody was very kind to us. This was the second time that some of us had visited there, and they remembered us from a previous visit, which was surprising even to remember the names. So, we're very pleased with how we were treated. They were friendly, helpful, and very kind. They even gave my mother a to-go container of more food, because she liked it so much. The facility was clean, but there were a few things that were dated or wear and tear, but nothing bad. The room that my mother is going to be moving into has a new carpet, new paint, and things like that. There were four of us that they served lunch to, and everyone was very pleased with the food.
We have had a great experience with assisted living at American House Stone Senior Living. I love the accommodation and the services that they offer.
