Overcrowded, understaffed, a complete disaster. I’m not saying this is the fault of the staff: besides some confusion and overwhelming workloads, the staff seems fine. No, this is the fault of the people who set this up, and is absolutely set up as a get-rich-quick scheme under the guise of righteousness. Our seniors deserve on-hand care under the guidance of a licensed nurse. It shouldn’t take hours to check on someone, but it happens because they are not properly staffed, and do not meet state requirements for staffing. I can’t imagine how anyone could pay thousands just to have their loved…

Carlyon is simply amazing. Best cleaner hands down! She needs a raise with all the extra detail she puts in
I toured Bishop Hills Elder Care two years ago, and almost signed up with them. I liked the fact that there was a lot of light, each room had nice big windows and meeting some of the people there, everybody seemed happy. I found that they were doing a lot of activities. I'm considering going back and seeing if I can get in there. It was the office manager that did the tour, and she was very pleasant about it. She spoke to the other clients there as we walked around, and she seemed nice. There is a sidewalk that goes around the building so that you can take long or short walks outside, and…

Both Mother and Aunt resided there. Everyone worked hard to keep the operation efficient and treated residents very well. Mother was there first and due to her experience our Aunt chose to stay at Bishop Hills also.
My mother-in-law is in Bishop Hills Elder Care. We chose it because it's smaller and it's friendly. I had been there before visiting other people, and I've been there on and off for several years. It's always been nice. It's less expensive than the neighboring ones, and it's a very convenient location for us. It's assisted living, and if you need more help as time goes on, they will do more than assisted. I just don't agree with their COVID policy; I think it's a little strict. The staff is always friendly, always helpful, cheerful, and my mother-in-law tells me that they're nice and cheerful. She loves the food. They have bingo, art projects, and some exercises, and they're all optional; you're free to partake or not partake. It's an older building, but it's nice.
My relative moved into Bishop Hills in Rockford, and it's been very good. The rooms and the dining area are very nice. She likes the food there. I don't know of any other activities, but she's doing crafts. The staff is very nice. Every time I talk to her, she would always say that the food is good. The facility is really nice.
Decent place, no real issues. Seems like a very laid back place. I do think they could use more funding to get some new furnishings, like carpet and updates in plumbing, perhaps. Wish they could get regular housekeeping staff, and maybe get a small bus to take folks on a few outings here and there. I think they should let more people know about volunteering there. Not that many people know about the place in order to volunteer, donate, or help.
This place is very homey, with kind caregivers. The food is pretty good, but the way the residents interact with each other is wonderful.
