Blueberry Hill Assisted Living

I would give this place less than one star if I could. We had limited options for my mother and felt we had no other choice. Manager (Georgina) information: My mother complained several times about the staff’s response time. On one occasion, I sat with her and witnessed it take nearly two hours for someone to answer her call light. I requested the call-light logs from the manager. She went on a power trip and made me wait on-site for more than three hours, only to tell me that she would email them to me. I told her that this felt deceptive and that I was not leaving without the records. She eventually returned with logs covering only the day I was there. I explained that I needed the records from the previous several weeks. From a distance, I watched her copy the information into a Word document, which made me question the transparency and accuracy of what I was given. I waited hours for a 5-minute process. After this incident, the manager blocked my phone number, even though I am my mother’s only point of contact. She would have her minions relay messages to me which resulted in delayed issues being resolved. She is essentially a child. Food information: The food looks disgusting and is often served at room temperature. I ended up buying a mini refrigerator and keeping my mother’s food stocked, along with providing her with a microwave. Cleanliness information: I went there and mopped my mother’s floor and cleaned her bathroom because the facility did such a poor job. When I arrived, I often had to tell someone that her bathroom needed to be cleaned before anyone would address it. Staff: Some staff members were good and genuinely cared, but many others were clearly disengaged and frequently sat on their phones. My mother has tremors, and on one occasion, she was left shaking for approximately three hours. An aide told me that my mother had not received her medication because—and I quote—“She didn’t remind me like she normally does, so I didn’t think she wanted it anymore.” My mother is 72 years old, has terminal lung cancer, and is experiencing severe cognitive decline. She should not be responsible for reminding staff to administer her prescribed medication. When I arrived, the aide was sitting in her car on a break. Keep that in mind.

Blueberry Hill is the best!!! The staff take wonderful care of my momma and always keep me updated on what's going on with her. They work very hard to keep their residents happy and safe. Recently my mom was sick and they caught it before it got to a really bad point. They called me and made sure I was aware of what was going on every step of the way, they even checked in on her after she was sent to the hospital to make sure she was doing okay. This means the world to me as they understand my busy work schedule and I am still able to help my mom and be there for her due to blueberry hills attentiveness and care. My mom was nervous and they were able to calm her nerves and worries. Which they have done many times when she's been panicked or anxious about something. Management meets with my husband and I to discuss my mom and her care. They do family nights, outings, and fun activities for their residents and families. I could go on and on about how impressed I am with this facility. You don't get this kind of care at other places. I would recommend blueberry Hill 1000%. If you have a loved one who needs assisted living Blueberry hill is that place, the only place I would ever trust to take care of my momma 💗
