I'm not there a lot as I live out of state, but my mom and brother say they are happy and like the place, food, and staff better than the last assisted living place they lived in.
1. There were many things not great, but she was safe, comfortable and pretty good care. 2. lobby and hall, etc always good but they had a hard time keeping staff to clean residents rooms. Many many times I cleaned my mom's room myself. Even bought a little vacuum to keep there. 3. the day staff were all great. At the end I ran into night staff that were so great to the point of grumpy bordering on rude 4. hard one - some staff care was great and some were just awful, especially night staff. At the end I would come in and her bed would be wet, depends not on right, not know the last time for…

At the end I would come in and her bed would be wet, depends not on right, not know the last time for meds. 5. hard to reach people some times cause they don't come in until 10. Lots of turnover. Billing is absolutely atrocious. I'd be curious to know how many people have been billed for things they don't need or services not used. I would find things billed wrong, but some people there didn't have someone looking out for them 6. - residents were always complaining. No flavor, veggies cooked to mush. One time they offered me a plate, and I couldn't even eat it. 7. - had some good ones when there was an activities person there. When she left it went to the dumpster 8. - I thought it was overpriced...we had 3 increases, one was 8%, in the time we were there. We were supposed to get a discount via abenity but never did. It took her soc sec, vet benefits and savings to be there and she didn't have any additional medical needs until the last month or so. Overall it was pretty good, we had a stretch where they were close to being staffed and had some good people. Fairly high turnover so things got dropped or stuff not done or lots of confusion. And oh ya, the hair dresser girl was way over priced for the services she provided....
Everyone is kind and caring. A safe place for my parent's.
I would definitely recommend Brookdale Meridian Assisted Living to others. The staff and residents were both very friendly and helpful. I was always able to reach out with questions via email, phone, and in person. My loved one wasn't there for very long before transitioning into hospice. The staff was supportive of both my loved one and our family during her time in hospice.
Brookdale Meridian was very clean and very well maintained. The staff or person who gave me the tour was great. They have restaurant-style dining, and they have it broken up into small areas, so rather than a large dining area where people have to go, they had dining on each floor, so that's something different than other places I've toured. They also had different opportunities for engagement in common areas for activities, movies, and things like that. The facility was clean, well-maintained, and secure. They have their own nurses onsite.
The gal that gave us the tour at Brookdale Meridian was very nice and very personable. She did a good job showing the facility. They had individual dining areas for the different wings, which I found kind of cozy, yet at the same time, they were limited as far as the opportunity for socialization. The apartments were nice. Everything was clean and new. There were no issues or complaints with it. Ron and the nurse were both wonderful, attentive, and forthcoming with any information or questions that we had.
We have had a great experience so far at Brookdale Meridian. Everyone has been fantastic and helpful. I would recommend it to other families in need of assisted living.
The employees are getting high on break/lunch and then “caring” for their residents. One in particular [name removed] posted a video of herself smoking marijuana on break. They are caring for our loved ones, HIGH. That puts our loved ones at risk. Horrible, do not send your family here.
