Brookdale Utica

The staff at Brookdale Utica are caring and professional. The nursing staff is always available for questions and our father is receiving very good care. Florica at the front desk always greets us with a smile. There are several social events and the residents are very friendly to each other.

Moving my mom into a memory care facility was one of the hardest decisions I had to make. She has dementia, and due to changes in our family's living situation, it was no longer possible for her to live with a relative. I was worried about how she would adjust, but after 9 months, I can honestly say it was the right choice. Brookdale Utica's memory care senior living has far exceeded my expectations. Since moving in, my mom has become more social, active, and genuinely happy. She is always smiling, has made new friends, and thrives every day taking part in different activities. It’s been such a relief to see her enjoying her golden years in a safe and supportive environment. The staff here are incredible—kind, friendly, communicative, and truly attentive to her needs. They treat her with dignity and care, and it shows in how comfortable and content she is. There entire team is amazing to work with. Knowing my mom is so well taken care of gives me peace of mind. I’m grateful every day for the compassion and dedication of the team here and couldn't be happier with my decision.

Unfortunately, I have to give this facility a 1 star rating. I toured here with my husband and brother to inquire for my father. At the time, we felt my father needed some extra assistance and wanted to see what facilities had to offer him when the time was right to make the move. We met Brooklyn and Nicole and both were very nice during our tour and answered all of our questions. However, when we felt my father wasn’t quite ready and did not leave a deposit, we were in agreement we would check back in for monthly updates. On the first monthly update, I reached out directly to both Brooklyn and Nicole inquiring about availability and moving forward with the next steps to leave a deposit. I did not receive any replies for 24 hours. I reached back out and was guaranteed I was 2nd in line to be called back and did not receive a call. I told them I would be available the day after next and was unavailable for the rest of the evening - which prompted in multiple texts and a phone call - which I was unavailable to take. I receive another text asking my availability and confirmed another phone call at 1pm the following Friday, which again, did not happen. A facility with 2 coordinators who are unresponsive with a simple response to an inquiry call is extremely unprofessional and a red flag in my opinion to leave any person in memory care. The impression I received was if you’re not serious about moving into Brookdale, they are not serious about your loved one.

I recently visited Brookdale Utica. This senior living community is truly impressive. The staff create a welcoming atmosphere and the facility is beautifully maintained. The residents' rooms have a very homey feel and the commons areas is beautiful and inviting. The staff go above and beyond to ensure everyone feels safe and supported, making it a wonderful place for seniors to call home. I highly recommend this facility to anyone seeking a warm, friendly environment for their loved ones.

Brookdale Utica was a great place for my sister to live. She was very well cared for. The whole staff is very friendly and caring. Knowing that my sister was being cared for 24/7, gave me peace of mind.
