In the beginning of 2025 we started the application process to move my mom into Carrollton Senior Village. They called and said they had a unit opening up for her on August 1, 2025 - 1 bed 1 bath $761 a month, no pets, etc. We were excited and accepted the offer but then we didn’t hear anything after that so we called multiple times, left messages sent emails and no answers. Finally we go there on August 1 and they say it’s still being worked on so you should put down security deposit to save the unit. We did. Put deposit down on August 1. Said they were just redoing the unit since the former tenant lived there for many many years and it had a smoke smell and had to be remodeled. Kept calling and emailing and having to go down there asking when it will be ready no answers kept saying oh they are still working on it. Finally November 1, 2025 - 3 months later I had to call and email Piper Management who manages this property out of CLARKSTON, MI to get any answers she didn’t even know what was going on she had to call the office manager and come up with a story. FINALLY they admitted they gave the unit away (I think) I couldn’t tell through all the lies of them mixing up phone numbers, or if they never even had the unit available I’m not sure? Tried to offer my mom a terrible unit next to the office that was previously used as their storage unit instead after jumping through all the hoops and promising her a nice apartment on the hill side. Landlords generally cannot take multiple security deposits for the same unit from different applicants; they should only accept one deposit to hold a property for one prospective tenant, as taking multiple deposits while still advertising or holding one is often illegal!!

I’ve lived there before. Very clean and excellent service.

My mother will never live there again. They have been through at least 4 managers. There are no activities. It's depressing. Tiny little apartments, yet they keep raising the rent. These people are on fixed incomes. The residents stay in their apartments. No one interacts with anyone. And when my mother moved out, the office woman was snotty and rude, because she had to wait one extra day to move out. She's in her 80's and doesn't drive, and the day they wanted her to leave was a holiday. I do not recommend this place at all.

Edit 2/23 Dropped from five to four stars They let Maureen go and have been through several interim managers since. My mother's toilet backed up and she left messages for two days with no response so I took care of it for her. Disappointing. Original review: My mother has lived here twice. Once for 8 years, and after a short stay somewhere else she moved back and has lived here again for the last three years. The complex is clean, well maintained, and the manager, Maureen cares very much about her residents and was very easy and helpful to work with.

This place has very unreasonable Manager. Don't rent hear my advice.

My mother loves it!
