The place was horrible. My stepfather went there for rehab and couldn’t get out fast enough. We had to transfer him to another facility. The place looks like a concentration camp. Filthy dirty, reeks of feces and urine and there is no one around. I went into the room to gather his belongs and the roommate was laying there in a hospital gown with his bare naked rear end hanging out in the fetal position with blood dried to his legs and no blanket. I wouldn’t take my dog there!
My mother in law was sent here after being in the hospital, she also has been in the other one in Dearborn heights, both are awful, so neglectful, she has advanced copd needs breathing treatments 3x a day not sure if she had them, not sure about meds, didn’t eat on time and never can get any food after kitchen closes! Awful atmosphere and care! At least one nurse Maurice got her a banana after getting admitted, there 2 days but ended up going back to hospital!!!
My step father was in there due to an infection on his leg. He could not move to get around. They didn’t change the bandage for over 5 days. I had to leave work just to give him water because the staff is basically non-existent. The staff just sits at the desk watching loud videos. The hallways reek of urine and feces. The facility is beautiful and well done and has the potential to be great but the staff is HORRIBLE. If you have anybody in there get them out NOW. Or you’ll feel guilty about it.
This was my first time with a family member in a nursing facility. I didn’t know what to expect and my biggest regret is not getting my father out sooner. The facility is filthy. I didn’t miss a day visiting my dad in the 6 weeks he was there. Most days he wouldn’t have water or it would be the same water I had given him the day before. There was always trash on the floor from nurses or aids changing him. I cleaned up everyday that I was there. The food was always cold and barely edible. Most of the staff was rude. One night I pushed my father’s call light. After 20 minutes I went to find help. There were two other call lights on and I found the nurse on her phone, slouched down in a chair hiding behind a med cart. I did report it but nothing was done. On the day I moved my dad out the nurse accidentally gave me his med list. My dad was in severe pain and needed pain meds around the clock. The list showed that he hadn’t been given his pain meds in two days. When I questioned it she told me that his meds were given on request and he hadn’t asked for them. My dad hadn’t spoken in days, thus the reason he hadn’t asked for them. She took the med list back and told me she shouldn’t have given it to me and I couldn’t have it back. I regret that I didn’t take a picture of it. The only thing positive I can say is that William in PT is wonderful. He is a kind and caring human that you can tell truly cares
I was very impressed. Nursing staff goes above and beyond for their patients at this facility.
The nursing staff are very caring and understanding with concerns and needs. Very patient with my loved one and knowledgeable with the care being provided. Definitely suggest this facility for your loved ones
No place is perfect, but some of the employees are. I implicitly trust LPN Nae Brantley, transportation director Larry, and Nursing manager stephanie to get my needs met as well as help me progress out of the nursing care system. Some other employees should retire. Meds being delivered 3 or more hours late is a common problem. One nurse woke me up at 2am to give me meds I was supposed to get at 7pm.
Do NOT take your loved ones here, the neglect is astonishing, smell of urine in the halls. Our family member was nonverbal and could not call for help and would not receive it because she wasn’t being checked on. Truly a poor run facility and has no empathy for their patients and their needs.
