Our family entrusted Glacier Hills Senior Living with my mom's care for two weeks following a major surgery after being referred there by Trinity Health. Our family entrusted Glacier Hills Senior Living with my mom's care for two weeks following a major surgery after being referred there by Trinity Health. Unfortunately, our experience fell well below what we expected during such a critical time. The biggest disappointment was the nursing care and overall customer service. Several staff members came across as rude, combative, dismissive, and uninterested in addressing concerns. We repeatedly brought issues to the attention of staff and management, yet very little changed. It often felt like the bare minimum was being done instead of providing the compassionate, patient-centered care that families should expect. Response times to call lights were consistently slow, attentiveness was lacking, and basic personal care—such as helping patients shower and maintain hygiene—did not appear to be a priority. These are not extras; they are fundamental parts of quality rehabilitation and skilled nursing care, especially for someone recovering from major surgery. The facility itself also feels outdated and did little to inspire confidence in the quality of care being provided. I understand healthcare is demanding and that many caregivers work under difficult circumstances, but that does not excuse poor communication, dismissive attitudes, or a lack of responsiveness when patients need assistance. Families place an enormous amount of trust in rehabilitation facilities during vulnerable times, and unfortunately that trust was not earned during our stay. No family should have to wonder whether their loved one is being cared for appropriately. We left feeling that we had to constantly advocate just to receive basic care, and that's not how a rehabilitation facility should operate. Based on our experience, I cannot recommend Glacier Hills Senior Living. If you want to sleep well at night knowing your loved one is receiving attentive, compassionate care, I would encourage you to consider other facilities.
There is a darkness that walks the halls of Glacier Hills Memory Care. It is a place that will leave you with a very hollow feeling. It will begin with promises of the highest level of care for your loved one. It will end with anguish and heartache at the realization that Glacier Hills was detrimental to your loved one’s health and well-being. The level of manipulation and gaslighting that we experienced reminded us of a “house of mirrors” at a cheap carnival. Nothing was what it seemed, and nothing was what it should have been. We tried in vain to advocate for our loved one. We were met with…

The level of manipulation and gaslighting that we experienced reminded us of a “house of mirrors” at a cheap carnival. Nothing was what it seemed, and nothing was what it should have been. We tried in vain to advocate for our loved one. We were met with denial, resentment, retaliation, and ultimately, retribution. It is the retribution that haunts us most of all.
My father was placed in Glacier Hills to get physical therapy after a fall. He has been there three days and received physical therapy only once … and that was primarily putting him on a stationary bicycle and saying “pedal.“ So far it appears that they are simply warehousing my dad. I will update this as things progress, or don’t. Update: Things got incrementally better during my dad's 2 week stay. One of the therapists he liked a lot, the other not at all.
My elderly relative received great rehabilitation after a fractured femur. The staff were very kind and helpful. She also loved the food!!
My Grandma recently stayed here as part of her recovery after a leg fracture. The facility was very clean and her room was spacious. With the help of the medical team, she’s made a lot of progress, and I’m very grateful for their support.
Glacier Hills has proven time and time again why you would want you family members to live in such an amazing community. They have excellent leadership that is hands on. They strive to ensure all patients are taking care of, needs are meant and goals are meant. I would recommend my grandparents to Glacier Hills!!!!
I have family members who have been residents in the Pavillion at Glacier Hills since it was rebuilt into brand new apartments almost 3 years ago. They are very gracious people and would never think to mention both the positives and negatives in a review. I would like to provide a balanced review of the good and the disappointing for those who are considering moving into Glacier Hills themselves or have relatives who are considering the move. First, the staff who have daily or weekly interactions with my family members have proven to be consistently warm and helpful to the extent of their ability and authority. My family has also been delighted with the community of other residents they've come to know. Second, the food. Big hits and big misses in otherwise ok but not superb offerings. Not the outstanding offerings of the reputation GH has earned in years past. Third, the facilities. The apartment they purchased is beautiful. Unfortunately due to scrimping on costs or for other reasons, the promised garages that were built for Pavillion residents were built too small for many normal size vehicles to pull in and out of safely and easily. Also, many of the big beautiful, new Pavillion windows leaked, so all of them had to be replaced. There have also been generator outages, flooding, and asbestos crises in various areas of GH, all requiring relocations of residents as well as significant, time consuming repairs that limited access to and use of various amenities. There was a huge crane in the wellness garden that is meant to be the prized view of Pavillion garden apartments all summer, and a huge construction dumpster and construction workers' cars parked in the designated Pavillion parking area all summer, through fall and now well into winter with weeks of construction left to go, eliminating any close parking for Pavillion residents. There is also construction storage and staging use of the useless garages that were originally intended for the Pavillion residents' vehicle parking, that residents were origianlly told they were not allowed to use for storage. Speaking only for the Pavillion area, management has been unresponsive and unrepentant about turning the parking and entrance area to the Pavillion into a construction zone for months to build the too small garages and months again to stock and supply window replacement. Overall, I'm sad to report that Glacier Hills has not lived up to the reputation of excellence it carried for many years over the course of the almost three years my family members have resided there.
My experience is Glacier Hills is all about the money. They could care less about peoples health from my point of view. My opinion is they have knowingly exposed workers and residents to harmful asbestos on many occasions. From my point of view they knew it was there and dangerous but choose to not disclose it to the workers or the seniors living here and allowed it to be removed improperly causing exposure to workers and residents with no safeguards. They were investigated by the state and had 4 serious violations for this and and settled it. They continued to risk exposure after this investigation from my point of view. You can go to OSHA and look it up under inspection #1711873.015. Report # 0552651. Citation ID #'s 01001A, 01001B, 01001C, 01001D.
