This facility checks many boxes & the location along Muskegon Lake offers wonderful walking areas, sitting areas & an opportunity to enjoy the water life. An experience to date that we have enjoyed for our loved one. Family environment with compassionate to each individual. Thank you.
Cold food, long patient response time, no therapy on weekends. This place is full of excuses and huge lack of patient attention. If yiu are considering Harbor Terrace for rehab, pick somewhere else.
Great place my mother was here for a month for PT and OT. The staff was excellent, professional, and extremely friendly

Today, Courtney Mann, a physical therapist at Harbor Terrace in Muskegon Michigan put through orders for my mother to be transferred with a Hoyer lift as opposed to a sit stand machine which she had used for 12+ years. This therapist denied my mother the right to informed consent. The order for Hoyer transfers was a complete surprise to my mother and my family. I had just had a meeting with Courtney and her manager and said no three times. I then said, lets table this matter until Monday. We can talk then. I walked out of the building and Courtney put through the orders. On a Friday evening. I learned about this when my sister called me saying that mom needs to go to the bathroom and staff is telling her she must use a Hoyer lift and that physical therapy put thru an order. No more bathroom privacy. My mother is condemned to lying on the bed with a bedpan under her. I cannot even talk to a lawyer until Monday. My mother wants to go in the bathroom and shut the door. Courtney wants to condemn her to using bedpans for the rest of her life. My mother is upset and crying. How could someone be so cruel to a 92-year-old woman who had no problems with a sit/stand machine? The interesting and telling part of this ill conceived action by Courtney is that the staff is not prepared and had no idea how to go about this. To use a Hoyer lift there must be a sling under the patient. Because there wasn’t a sling, staff had to physically move my mother from her wheelchair to a portable toilet. After she completed her business, staff then had to physically lift her to the bed, where they had placed a hoyer sling. If this step were medically necessary, the family would have prepared my mother and been there for her every step of the way. Courtney should not have a license that involves her providing care to people. She is disrespectful, unprofessional, callous and does not care about people. She has her own agenda, and it does not involve treating people with respect. It is the opinion of myself and my family that she is devoid of morality and ethics. The following Monday my family met with the Director of Nursing, the Executive Director and Courtney. Courtney said the reason for the Hoyer lift was to prevent bruising and to keep my mother safe. I informed Courtney that my mother met criteria established by OSHA (Occupational Safety and Health Administration). Courtney refused to rescind the order. She said it was done and that was it. We had no recourse. Courtney overstepped her authority. The order was rescinded by the Director of Nursing who was familiar with the waiver provision of Informed Consent. The order should never have been written. Sometimes people position themselves as experts and refuse to consider common sense. This sense of entitlement or privilege is dangerous to individual rights. It has no place in America, let alone a health facility. In closing I want to say that there was no documentation given to the family regarding this. Just me being chased down by PT when I went to visit my mother and them attempting to thrust their recommendation on me. When I said no, they did what they wanted to do.
Nice clean facility. Greatly understaffed. Not much attention given to the patients. Staff is friendly, but not very visible or attentive. Our father was put to bed with his clothes on every night. This is a rehab facility and he is not walked down the halls to help make him stronger. The family should be informed of what kind of rehab he will be getting in the beginning .
I had a very good Rehab with them everyone was so kind to me Stephanie Stacy Cortney Isabel Kathy and the whole staff were great thank you
Harbor Terrace Senior living staff are 5 star. I was treated with kindness, respect and helped through out my whole visit to see a pt today . Theresa and Melissa was so helpful with showing where to go and where stuff could be located .The building is very beautiful and well kept.
The physical therapy I’ve received at Harbor Terrace Senior Living has been excellent. My two therapists, Stacy Ellis and Crystal Frazee, have been thorough, professional and encouraging. Their work has been invaluable in the dramatic improvement in my physical condition. I haven’t moved this well in years. My daughter says she is stunned by how much better I’m doing. Well done.
