Heritage Marketing staff has offered candid helpful information to us as potential residents. We feel fortunate to have positive interaction. Luke Freeman in particular keeps us apprised as new information regarding Heritage is shared in a timely, professional and courteous manner. As a result, we look forward to becoming a part of the Heritage community.
Moved my mother in law in recently and we cannot say enough great things about her care and the staff! They have gone ABOVE and BEYOND to make sure her transition into assisted living is as seamless as possible. Izabela is literally an angel here on Earth and always looking out for the residents best interest. I know now place is perfect but the staff here genuinely cares about their residents which shows time and time again.
My past experience with this place is how little they care about people! 7 years ago they kicked out EVERYONE that lived there so they could tear down our beloved homes and replace them with homes for seniors who have more money then we did.that says a lot for this place!!!!!
I’m sorry to say but this place is ripping people off!!! They barely check in on their residents and the only time my relative gets a shower is when hospice comes in a does it! I mean come on 6500.00 a month is outrageous for just a room and meals. Please everyone do your research before putting your loved one in this facility 😡 You really should be ashamed of what you charge I hope I can figure out how to get you investigated!!!
My name is Richard Wentzell. I've called and been trying to get ahold of John Sage. I have not been able to!! Like His lawyer says, it's almost impossible as we just get babble directions that go no where!! Even his so called phone number does not work!!
Heritage Community of Kalamazoo is truly a special place. As someone who knows the community well, I can say with confidence that Heritage is more than just a senior living campus—it's a place where people are valued, supported, and genuinely cared for. Residents are treated with dignity and respect, and there’s a strong sense of connection, purpose, and joy in daily life. What also sets Heritage apart is the culture among staff. It’s a great place to work, with a leadership team that empowers employees, recognizes their contributions, and encourages professional growth. Whether you’re a resident, a family member, or part of the team, you feel like you’re part of something meaningful. From the beautiful grounds to innovative programs and heartfelt hospitality—Heritage Community is a place where people thrive.
Well decorated rooms, very fresh. Food was good. Service was excellent
In the past two years both my parents (Ridge Creek) and my in-laws (The Artisan) have moved into the Heritage Community. As a daughter/in-law I am continually comforted by the decision each couple made by moving into a CCRC - Heritage Community. These decisions were not made lightly. I personally researched all the Independent, Assisted, Memory Care living options in Kalamazoo. Meeting with Joe P, learning what Heritage has to offer: its long established local history, and status as a Non- For Profit - as a family we realized Heritage was the best and only choice to make. My advise to those searching for living options: Now is the Time. It is far better to make the transition early while you can versus when and if a crisis arises. Waiting until you "have to" greatly limits your options. Everyone within the Heritage Community has an aging related issue; that is what makes it unique - Everyone Gets It. Living among others has improved the over all health of all four parents. All are eating better. The food service is terrific - chefs at both kitchens create satisfying and delicious meals. Staff do a wonderful job making everyone feel welcomed and valued. All are more socially engaged. The variety of social activities is endless. The staff work hard at coming up with a wide variety of social activities. In looking at the definition of Community: "A feeling of fellowship with others, as a result of sharing common attitudes, interests & goals which fosters a sense of belonging and well being". I believe Heritage Community of Kalamazoo exemplifies this definition. Getting older isn't for sissies but with smart decisions, guidance and support making the transition is not as scary as it was years ago. I highly recommend learning what Heritage of Kalamazoo has to offer you and your family. I encourage interested parties to take a tour and see this special Community in Kalamazoo.
