Management are unreliable. Hard to reach anyone in the office. Being told lies. Told Renewed leases signed can’t be found. Trying to force residents to sign a new lease with a huge rate increase without any warning. All “luxuries “ have been taken away. Owner is very belligerent and tries to bully the residents to accept new huge rate increase or get out!.

Hope Woods Senior Community was very nice and clean. The staff was very friendly. They have a calendar with something going on just about every day. They keep everybody very busy. If you want to be busy, you can be. If you want to go play euchre in the library or the game room, you can do that. The staff was very friendly and nice. She did a great tour.

There is NO power generator! We had an ice-storm and the power was out for DAYS. Imagine all of these apartments with NO heat. Now imagine that you have some mobility restriction and live above the ground floor; NO elevator. Now imagine that you need to rely on electric power for Oxygen. There was a fireplace in the lobby and some cold pizza provided. Of course you might not be able to get down to the lobby, and if you got there you might not be able to breathe. If you can get back to your apartment it will be 60 degrees and getting colder while the food in your fridge spoils. So much for Day…

This is just NOT ACCEPTABLE! How can there be NO GENERATOR in MICHIGAN for these poor people?

Our tour to Hope Woods Senior Community was a very good experience. There were lots of woods around and it's very well-secluded. It's a smaller facility and it just seemed very nice. There were lots of places to walk the dog and it was very clean and quiet. The manager was wonderful. We had some trouble getting our time together and she just worked with us until we got a time that would work for us both. She was so helpful and so nice. They were going to have a happy hour just as we were leaving, but they also have other things to do. They have therapy, a gym, crafts, card games, bingo three nights a week, and other daily things. They offered a lot. The rooms were nicely laid out, bright, cheerful, and exceptionally very nice. Entryways were also nice. I was just very impressed with the room.

The only drawback to Hope Woods seems to be meals. But among the family members, we should be able to keep Mom's freezer full of easy to heat good foods.

I am doing fine at Hope Woods. Things are going great here. I'm having a good time getting settled in and meeting new people. The staff is excellent. There are more activities than I can handle. They provide the evening meal and I have to fix my other meals. But I have enjoyed the supper, it has been great. I would say for those who drive, there isn't a problem but those of us who walk have a hard time getting around in the snow. The sidewalks are covered so it can be hard to walk to nearby places.

Loved this facility the best. Very attractive common areas and friendly inviting atmosphere. Great location. Many planned activities and amenities available. Had great safety features. Emergency pull cords bathrooms and bedrooms. All hallways had handrails. Although washer/dryer rare coin operated the rates are reasonable.

I recently moved into Hope Woods, after a year looking at other senior living options in Kalamazoo. Hope Woods met all my criteria for my next living arrangements. It is centrally located and easy to access. It is comfortable, clean, nicely decorated. There are many activities, and everyone has been very friendly and helpful. It is definitely a good value compared to other places I researched. I definitely would recommend Hope Woods to seniors or families looking for a safe, clean, friendly environment.
