This is a great place. The staff is very friendly and caring.
My mother in law has been at Arbor Woods for three months and it is a joke. She has had her dentures taken, hearing aids lost by staff, and we have been told in no uncertain terms it’s ‘not their problem.’ When we discussed filing a police report, the director laughed at the notion of a civil suit and said, ‘go ahead. You won’t win’ We have confirmed with the licensing and regulatory affairs they have had 5 complaints filed against them in the last four days. We confirmed with staff members seven residents left in the last three days and more are leaving. We’ve given notice and are removing…
We’ve given notice and are removing her from there. Last weekend a staff member was drunk on the job and walked off. They do not have a doctor on staff and only have medical personnel on call. The barely trained staff are allowed to distribute medications, and on any occasion one worker is responsible for 14-17 residents. We have reports of residents call lights being ignored and regularly are not assisted, left soiled in urine al night and staff members being aggressive with residents. We have filed complaints with the Long Term Care Licensing Bureau, Ombudsmen and with LARA. We were informed there are multiple complaints. This is a very unsafe environment and you need to keep your loved ones away. If you have q uestio s? Contact me. I’d love to talk.
Staff is very kind and caring. The new administrator and his team are fabulous.
Pros: clean, bright, beautiful, caring, good food. Cons: limited activities and exercise
Everything at Summit Park is fine. The staff is outstanding. The services are more than I ever dreamed would be possible. The food is good, but I do not like the ambience, the clientele that they are serving, to be more specific. The facility has a hairdresser on site. They have all kinds of activities, like this Halloween they brought in children. They are very active in that regard.
Lloyd Ganton Retirement Center is very clean and is configured easily. The rooms are very nice. They’re barrier-free, and they have walk-in showers. They’re almost like small apartments, so it’s made for an easy transition. They provide activities. The staff is excellent. You have a sense they really do care about the residents.
While attending game day I was able to observe a very friendly staff. They were friendly to me and their tenants. The facility was fairly new but well kept. There were plenty of seating for guests and the tenants. I viewed a couple of the rooms and they seemed well kept. They both had nice looking beds and it appeared that each room has a TV and their own bathroom. I was impressed with the amount of flowers and the selection of the decor. There were special days planned for the tenant such as game day and family day. I was able to have lunch there as well. The food was pretty good and there was a nice selection for the tenants. I have only attended one of the game days, but I am planning to attend more. Overall I was impressed with the retirement home and would feel comfortable with having family staying there.
