Took my daughter to the ER due to a bug bite that got significantly worse through the day. Doctor Waggoner and nurse James that took such good care of my baby girl! James made her so comfortable and laugh and when she struggled taking her medicine he helped her and made it as fun as it could be for her!! Could NOT have asked for better care for my baby girl! SO greatful!!
Came in for some serious things in the e.r. Wasn’t taken serious at all. Was gaslighted, not listened to or understood by dr Gomez I believe was his name. Felt so unseen and unheard. Had horrible anxiety the entire time after that and gave up fighting what didn’t feel good and just ended up saying okay and then eventually left because I know I wasn’t being believed or listened too even though something ended up really being wrong with me days later because he didn’t listen. Really disappointed I thought this place was different from other times coming here but this made me realize it’s not.…
Came in for some serious things in the e.r. Really disappointed I thought this place was different from other times coming here but this made me realize it’s not. On top of I heard people behind the desk outside my room laughing at me and talking about me and the e.r was empty other than just me. So that was a great feeling to have this experience. Medical field wonders why people have anxiety going to the doctors or hospitals or sometimes wait until it’s too late. It’s like this experience made my anxiety worse because it added to the other bad experiences.. be the difference people and when people come in and explain they have anxiety and that no one usually listens and last time you had something really wrong and went they didn’t listen and it was something bad maybe be the one who does listen. Give the comfort, the reassurance, if you don’t want to do those things then maybe get out of the dang medical field. If you don’t love your job anymore then maybe find something new. Loosing that love for your job and sympathy for people can effect others
My wife went to ER on a Sunday with bad stomach pain, nausea, and light headed. Whole experience was terrible. Staff left her sitting for 4 hours without checking on her other than to take her for a cat scan which she needed an ultrasound but told us they were not able to perform one. 5 staff members spent the 4 hours we were there playing games on the there computers laughing and joking and having a great time. At one point another worker walked by and stated must be nice to be able to play games all night while im working and was replied to with laughter and what else are we supposed to do.…

At one point another worker walked by and stated must be nice to be able to play games all night while im working and was replied to with laughter and what else are we supposed to do. Reluctantly used the bathroom with has urine all over the floor and on a table in the bathroom was a bed pan half full of yellow urine just sitting there waiting to be cleaned up. In the end the doctor said sorry we really dont have the capability here to do the tests needed and would suggest going somewhere else. Prescribed nausea pills and released my wife. Unfortunately marlette hospital is conveniently close to home but I will be driving the extra miles from now on to go anywhere else. I have even worse stories from a few years ago when I had hip surgery here but I won't even bother telling that story. Dont have the time or patience. Can't wait to get the $2,000 bill for nothing but some nausea pill subscription.
For being an older hospital, it's nice. I really like looking at the birds that are in the enclosure near the gift shop. I had a sleep study done here (very hot in the room though) and being nervous about what to expect, I didn't eat dinner the night before. It would have been nice to know the hours of the cafe because I had planned on getting breakfast when I woke up (because I was very hungry) and eating while I waited for my ride. Also the vending machine wouldn't work for me, could be user error though, and there were no more cups for coffee in the lobby. Staff I encountered were friendly. If I could make a suggestion, it would be to let sleep study patients know there would be a shower facility available in the restroom across front the sleep lab. There's all this gunk in my hair from the (sensors?) they hooked me up to and had I known I would have brought an overnight bag with some soap, shampoo etc and wanted to clean up. And then also to maybe provide a grab and go style breakfast (juice box, fruit, granola bar or muffin) or maybe staff can advise the patient to pack something? I know it's a medical facility and not a hotel but some people are still needing to start their day after a somewhat uncomfortable sleep experience (because you're hooked up to so many things, in an environment where you're being watched) and a morning shower and breakfast would be a nice way to round that out. :) Also, the light from the phone on the wall is very bright in that room (as well as all these little led lights on various devices) maybe also provide an eye mask or put dimming film over the lights? I bought some on Amazon for my humidifier and pet fountain etc for my own room at home.
Aspire rural hospital Marlette, has gotten worse. Cannot send lab testing to quest diagnostics anymore.. when aspire bills insurance for lab work, always outrageously more expensive out of pocket, then quest diagnostics… Having options in healthcare is crucial for balancing cost, coverage, and care quality. This rural hospitals lab, is not patient friendly, will be going elsewhere. Aspire- Profits > patient care
Clean, quiet
Usually a very good experience. But today just soured that all to hell. I took my COVID positive 2 month old there because she won't wake up or urinate. And the doctor said as he took a 30 second look at her that he didn't want to catch COVID. And we were discharged within 5 minutes. He made several remarks that indicated he didn't want us there or to catch her COVID. So unfortunately of your more worried about yourself getting sick why are you a doctor? Doctor komasara is rude and distateful. Now instead of taking us seriously after her doctor sent her there we now have to waste more fuel and time on bad roads to go get a second opinion when this " professional" should've just taken my poor girl seriously. Never in my life seen anyone in the hospital system and discharged within 5 minutes
I've gone to the ER here a few times now. I prefer going here because they are a million times faster than Lapeer. The staff is very friendly, and helpful. That is except for Dr. Kiddo... He's the kind of doctor that just says your problem is all in your head. I had breathing issues a few years ago, and he tried say it was just anxiety. After seeing an asthma specialist, we found I had scarring in my lungs from COVID. Then I went back for a skin issue recently... Same thing... He had the nerve to suggest it was in my head, even though it's something that's already been diagnosed by a dermatologist. This guy just doesn't care... Either that or he has NO IDEA what he's doing. Call ahead, if he's the physician on duty, I highly recommend going somewhere else. Or at least don't expect to get a prescription for anything that will actually help. The guy even lied about a certain kind of eye drop that I know exists, because I've used it before. He straight up lied, and said "they don't make anything like that". So in short, if you see Dr. Kiddo, expect him to tell you that you're crazy, and count yourself lucky if he even gives you antibiotics...
