My dad lived here during the advanced stage of his PSP, and it was the best decision we could have made. Shout out to Monique and the staff for the incredible care they provided and for integrating us into their living community!
The assisted living facilities in question are poorly managed, with little regard for resident safety and care. Staff members often lack proper training or certification, leading to frequent negligence. Medication errors are common, and families are not informed of mistakes. Residents have suffered injuries due to inadequate attention, and staffing levels are insufficient for those requiring two-person assistance.
Very unprofessional very unfortunate that some people would just send their love ones to be in the hands of these people care
When I was trying to find a place for my husband with Lewy Body Dementia regular nursing homes would not accept him because of the anger outbursts that go along with LBD. A social worker from Toledo Hospital was helping me. She said she had not heard of Memory Lane Assisted Living, but to look into it. The first sentence was We Accept Lewy Body Dementia residents. My daughter and I made an appointment with Joanna to visit the Carpenter Road home. I paid her that day and we moved my husband in. I’ve never worried about His care. Joanna took it upon herself to study LBD and teach the staff. It truly is a loving, caring community. The doctor for the home is a Geriatric Psychiatrist and the Nurse Practitioner is always ready to answer questions or give suggestions. Joanna has formed this wonderful family that works together to have a home filled with love. I thank GOD everyday for bringing us to Memory Lane. We have been there for almost a year and feel so Blessed.
My father lives at the Memory Lane Carpenter House. He has Lewey Body Dementia. This type of dementia takes special training and extra love. Joanna, the owner, is simply amazing! She hires top notch staff and trains them extremely well. She also does extra special things for her staff like a summer party, celebrations of birthdays, and is extremely supportive. I am a speech-language pathologist and am extremely picky about the care of my Father! The house is kept clean. The residents are constantly being cared for with dignity and LOVE. They have a variety of activities and outings. The food is healthy and cooked in the kitchen and residents are welcome to help out. My Dad loved barbecuing last summer. As his disease has progressed, the staff have been extremely supportive in helping us make decisions for his best care. I have worked in many skilled nursing facilities. They don’t hold a candle to what Memory Lane Carpenter House has to offer.
As a primary care provider I have spent countless hours in various assisted living homes. I have never had the pleasure of experiencing care of a dementia patient as I have here at Memory Lane. The owner of this facility is highly knowledgeable of the different types of dementia and prepares a care plan for each resident based in their diagnosis, past history, their hobbies, the foods they enjoy, the music they like, ect... She hand picks her staff to ensure that the individuals who come to care for residents at Memory Lane share her values of integrity and compassion of care. I have seen that each individual caring for the resident loves that resident as if it is their own family member. You can literally feel the love when you walk into each and every one of the Memory Lane Homes. I highly recommend this facility as this is where I would place my own family member if that difficult decision did arise.
CEO is crass and entitled. Would keep memory lane as a last case scenario if you cannot find somewhere else for your loved one.
Memory Lane!! If you are contemplating placing your loved one because they no longer can care for themselves, stop looking. Memory Lane is as good as it gets!! Sadly, through trial and error, we had my darling father in 2 other facilities. One even said they specialize in Alzheimer’s. A day after my dad moved in, we quickly realized they didn’t have a clue. Our father deserved to live out his life with dignity and to feel a sense of purpose. Joanna (owner) promised this will be his last move and they would welcome him with open arms. She held true to her promise and more!! My dad blossomed in Memory Lane. The staff are just wonderful. Kind, patient and compassionate. He was singing all the time and participating with chores in the home. We could visit him through the window and I also called him everyday, just like I used to I’m his own home. The staff was always very dependable and reliable and mainly, held accountable. They would always thank me for bringing my dad to them. The first thing many people want to know about a facility is the cost. As a nurse, the first thing you should ask is about the care! I have already told my children if there ever comes a day, please take me to Memory Lane😃
