This was a terrible experience for my mom and myself. My mom was transferred here for out patient rehab. There were some compassionate nurses and nurse aides, but beware of Chip (Probably a nick name). This nurse aide is cold, in-compassionate and lazy and should be fired! My mom was incapacitated and could not walk. She had to be lifted out of bed and have her briefs changed when she soiled herself. Chip would leave her for hours in a soiled brief from urine and a bowl movement. She had a sore on her buttocks that burned with excruciating pain from the soiled underwear and Chip refused to…

She had a sore on her buttocks that burned with excruciating pain from the soiled underwear and Chip refused to change her. Chip would come into the room and tell me to turn off the call light because she can’t change her now, she will have to wait until shift change at 7 pm. This was at 1 pm. She would then complain loudly in the hallway to the nurse about my mom and I so that we could hear her. This was to intimidate us. I had to ask an aide from another wing to help me change my mom. This is elder abuse and should be investigated by the police! I notified the unit nurse and nurse manager only to be either dismissed or lectured that collecting the empty meal trays was a higher priority than assisting someone in pain or needing to be changed. My mom was also left sitting in a wheelchair for 5 hours in pain from the cancerous tumor in her pelvis making it very painful to sit upright for too long. I had to beg to have her moved into her bed. Again, Chip refused to help. I had to ask aides from another area to help. Chip even accused my mom of soiling herself intentionally on Chip’s shift just to inconvenience her! The kitchen was just as bad. My mom was on a restricted diet and had to have food chopped up (mechanical soft) due to swallowing issues. The kitchen routinely sent the wrong food even though I filled out the weekly menu requesting this. Nursing told me it is not their problem, call the kitchen. When I contacted the kitchen, they just apologized and said there was nothing they could do. My mom would not have been able to eat if I had not been there to run home and fix food properly for her and bring it back up. This occurred 50-60% of the meals. No one is concerned that these patients/residents are going without meals. No one cares to fix these problems. I am looking into filing a lawsuit against this facility for elder abuse and neglect. Do not send your loved ones here. It is a death sentence.

I would not recommend this facility. They are short-staffed to the point that they cannot even provide a towel or washcloth without making a huge deal out of it, or they don't even have any to give until the laundry gets returned. There is only one staff member (according to them) who can help a fall risk resident get to the bathroom at a time, so if someone rings their bell and no one is available, they are told to soil themselves, and they will come asap. The problem is how long they take (and I mean long). Also, when an elderly resident is ill, it does not mean they are stupid or deaf. One…

One of the aides treated a resident like he was an idiot and fully dehumanized him due to his depression and inability to move around easily. She treated him like he was a 4-year-old. This is what the facility is supposed to be able to handle. This is an extremely intelligent person with an optimistic personality who was unable to help himself physically, so he was totally reliant on the care. It came up very short. It's not OK to leave someone in this condition, sitting naked in the shower, while they do something else (not even called to go elsewhere, she just left). It is dangerous and unacceptable for a fall-risk patient (not to mention cold). Speaking with a doctor just doesn't happen, no matter how long you wait. I wouldn't recommend this facility to anyone who cares about their loved ones. If the facility says otherwise, they don't know what is actually happening or aren't being truthful. We weren't the only ones upset. Beware.

We had the best experience there . Sassy was so caring, and amazing with my husband. Sassy would talk with him and he would respond to her. Sassy made the whole family feel comfortable with the care she showed towards him. I could not of asked for a better person to leave my husband with. My stepdaughter and stepson were very impressed with Sassy. We all need more Sassy's. Thank you and God bless.

My aunt recently stayed at this facility, and our family had such a positive experience. The staff were kind, compassionate, and always made sure she was comfortable and cared for. You can truly tell they care about their residents and treat them like family. Thank you to Abby and the entire team for providing such wonderful care and support. We are truly grateful.

My 93-year-old mother-in-law recently spent three weeks at this rehabilitation facility while recovering from pneumonia, and our family is incredibly grateful for the care and support she received during her stay. From day one, the staff made us feel that she was truly being cared for not just as a patient, but as a person. The nursing staff and aides were attentive, proactive, kind, and genuinely caring. They checked on her frequently without needing to be asked and always made sure she was comfortable, encouraged, and well looked after. A special thank you to Sandra, Angie, and Lakesha, who consistently went above and beyond with their warmth, patience, and compassion. Their care made a difficult situation so much easier for both our mother-in-law and our family. We also want to recognize Charlotte in Social Services for being so supportive, thoughtful, and responsive throughout the process. She helped make everything feel manageable and was always willing to answer questions and provide reassurance when needed. The reception team also deserves recognition. The women at the front desk were always upbeat, welcoming, and incredibly helpful. They greeted everyone with kindness and created a warm, comfortable environment from the moment you walked through the doors. Those small interactions truly mattered and helped make visits feel less stressful. The facility itself is beautiful and extremely well maintained, both inside and out. The grounds are clean, neat, and inviting, and the building always felt bright, peaceful, and cared for. Her room, the hallways, common areas, and dining spaces were consistently spotless and well kept. You can tell the staff takes pride in creating a clean, safe, and comfortable environment for residents and families. It never felt cold or impersonal — it felt welcoming and cared for. While our overall experience was overwhelmingly positive, we did have one uncomfortable interaction with a nurse who came across as unapproachable and lacking compassion. Thankfully, this felt very much like the exception and not the norm of what we experienced throughout her stay. We would not let that one interaction overshadow the wonderful care provided by the rest of the team, but we do believe the facility should be aware of it. We would be happy to share additional details directly with management if they choose to contact us. Overall, we are very thankful for the care my mother-in-law received and appreciate the many staff members who helped her through her recovery with kindness, dignity, and compassion.

My grandfather recently completed a stay at the Regency at canton, and he has had nothing but good things to say about his experience. Whenever I came to the facility to visit him it was always clean and fresh smelling. Grandpa's room was always clean, and he really enjoyed the food. While my grandfather is not yet ready for long term care, I did want to get some information. I spoke with the business office, and they were so helpful and informative about Medicaid and the process of applying. I hope the day never comes where he would need to be in a facility for long term care, but if he does, I would want him to be at the Regency. Thank you all for taking such good care of my grandfather.

Charlotte has been amazing to work with, our patients always tell us what a positive experience they had when they stay here and Charlotte helps facilitate their discharge.

My family member was in Regency at Canton, our experience was very good, staff are very friendly. Discharge went very smoothly Charlotte was very knowledgeable and provided us with resources for the future of our love one. We want to thank Regency at Canton for a good experience.
