My wife is there now, after being at a substandard facility in Macomb County for over a year, with no real concern for her care & losing much weight, since being there, she's made remarkable progress & she's well liked by her nurses & the facility is truly immaculate,I can highly recommend the facility.
Spent 20 days here after an injury! Caring and professional staff!
my grandma went there for 2 weeks to after being in the hospital. most of the is very nice there was a few that were disrespectful, my grandma asked for a menu for several days and they always claim to forget. my mom brought her food from home and the staff had issues with bringing it too her and when they did they melted the container. the other food she brought i’m not sure what happened to it if they gave it away or ate it. the food that they serve there is terrible and has no flavor. overall not a terrible place for short term.
Very rude black woman at the entrance who works behind a desk was unhelpful when I was attempting to visit a relative and didn’t let me know while I was there that badge machine was not working nor telling me it was ok to still come in. Woman needs lessons in etiquette
I love resthaven!! Awesome place to both work and trust with your loved ones care.
Our family has been blessed by the excellent care provided to our mom/ mother in law as she moved from Assisted Living at another facility to full skilled care at Resthaven. Her quality of life has improved, and we are grateful for the care provided by all of the staff.
In the 5 days my grandmother has been here, I've seen first hand how rough and negligent the nurses have been. For starters, never have I ever thought that full grown adults cannot wipe clean. Almost every single time my grandmother has gone to use the bathroom or after they have changed her diaper, I personally have had to go back and re-wipe her 5-6 times until she is clean. Secondly, let's talk about being rough. You're dealing with elderly people. You're dealing with another human being. They're someone's parent, partner, grandparent, sibling, cousin. She is my grandmother, my mother's and uncle's mother. To have two people basically throw her onto the bed is unacceptable. To have her yell "ow that hurts" is unacceptable. I will post an update when we leave, but I do hope someone sees this. I hope Resthaven sees this and does better. You're a nurse just like the hospital has nurses and yet the difference in care is obvious and heartbreaking.
There was nothing I didn't like at Resthaven Care Center. The staff was very friendly. I even spoke to some of the residents and they gave all the positive remarks of the facility. They honestly cared for people. For the skilled nursing, they had their own PT and OT in-house, which was nice if my father needed that. The staff member who assisted me was very kind. They listened. They had empathy and they made suggestions. They also mentioned if we didn't need skilled nursing, we could go to assisted living. They were knowledgeable as far as Medicaid and how that would play in insurance. They also were knowledgeable with local attorneys in the Holland, Michigan area that assisted with elderly care. The structure of the building looked very solid. As I toured, it was very clean. There was one bedroom where you could kind of smell a little bit of urine, but I didn't know if it had not been cleaned yet or not. But overall, the rest of the building was clean.
