Serenity at Rochester Hills

Serenity at Rochester Hills is an exceptional group home that provides outstanding care in a warm, peaceful environment. My father has been living there for approximately six months, and I couldn’t be more grateful to have found this home for him. My father can be challenging at times, but Diana consistently treats him with patience, dignity, kindness, and compassion. She is attentive to his personal care needs, including his hygiene and nutrition. I feel confident knowing his needs are being consistently met. Diana is also communicative and keeps me informed, which gives me tremendous peace of mind as his primary family caregiver. The home itself is modern, bright, exceptionally clean, and comfortable. Diana has been a blessing to both my father and my family, and I feel incredibly fortunate to have found Serenity at Rochester Hills. I highly recommend this assisted living home to anyone looking for a safe, comfortable, and compassionate place for their loved one.

My family highly recommends Serenity at Rochester Hills. I was referred there by a friend, whose mother had resided there, and was very pleased with the experience. We moved my brother there from a skilled nursing facility, where he was receiving very substandard care. That place was beautiful with high-end furnishings and a large beautiful lobby with a working fireplace. They happened to be very short staffed, and the care my brother received was lacking in so many ways. He had multiple medical issues, and therefore required a lot of care. At times, he could be demanding and cranky. When Diana made her initial assessment and visited him, we feared he might prove to be a challenge that she wasn't prepared to undertake. However, her calm demeanor and gentleness with him was more than impressive. Moving him into Diana's cheerful, clean and calm home was a precious gift that I didn't realize I was giving my brother. Her home was so quiet and bright and so cheerful, unlike the noisy chaos of the nursing facility. He became much happier and more content than any place he had previously resided. Meals served at Diana's are excellent, nutritious and very tasty. Because my brother was blind, he needed assistance at every meal. Diana, or one of her excellent staff, always assisted him at meals. Diana made efforts to personally present some of his favorite foods. Diana and Nathan learned his favorite music, his favorite sports teams, favorite games, favorite books, and frequently offered him the opportunity to enjoy all of them. He was able to hear every Lion's victory, and to hear when his favorite golfer won a tournament. They learned who my brother's favorite singer was. Then they found the video channels that played that special genre of music. My brother was a resident of Serenity for his last two birthdays. Diana marked each one with a special cake, and invited family members to come for his party. The living room was joyfully transformed in his honor, and that celebration meant so much to him. The care that Diana and her amazing staff gave each resident every day was the best I have ever seen. My brother had the misfortune, in the last eight years, to be in seven different facilities, and in two different hospitals. I've had firsthand experience with all of those places, and I witnessed the conditions and care at each. What my brother received from Serenity far surpassed every place he had previously lived. Serenity is very clean, well maintained and modern with comfortable furnishings. The areas are bright and cheerful, with lots of natural light. The best part of Serenity are the people: a friendly capable staff who take such gentle care of the residents. They were especially sensitive to my brother's blindness, and they always made particular adjustments to his needs. I have been known to describe Diana as an angel, because that is exactly what she was to my brother. She and her husband are the best team, and their gift of compassionate care and concern was truly a God-given gift that they have certainly mastered. We always were confident that my brother received the same loving care that we would have given him ourselves. I most definitely recommend Serenity at Rochester Hills as the best place for your loved one. The care received there is absolutely beyond comparison.
