Love the Big Rapids Brook but really needs a sidewalk around the place. Coming from South-East Michigan (with the options I've seen around here), I can't say enough about the employees and facilities there in Big Rapids. If there's one thing I would love to see (and that other places do have) is a walking path around the building, big enough for wheelchairs to pass. I regularly see residents walk out to the dumpster and back. Sometimes you see them walk out to the main road (pretty busy country road) and back. They have the land to complete a nice loop with nice views. Believe it would add a…

They have the land to complete a nice loop with nice views. Believe it would add a lot to the dynamics of this place. I don't know why this place doesn't have such a walking track. Don't get me wrong, they are exceptional in every other way, including value. This would be an easy win for them.
I want to take a moment to thank the staff at The Brook, especially Natalie and Jodie, for the wonderful 101st birthday celebration breakfast they hosted for Jim Brand. Jim and his wife Merrelyn have been long-time members of the Canadian Lakes Cruisers Car Club. Most of our members attended the party, and had a great time. Phil Little, Cruisers President
The Brook of Big Rapids has such a warm and caring staff. I visit my friend often, and every time I'm there, the team is kind, welcoming, and always willing to help. It's comforting to see how much they truly care about the residents
My family has had such a good experience with The Brook of Big Rapids. The staff there really care about the people living there and it shows in the little things they do every day. The maintenance team is honestly amazing. They’re always willing to help my dad with simple things like fixing his TV after he accidentally presses the wrong button, and they never make him feel bad about it. There have even been nights where someone has sat and talked with him for a little while when he couldn’t sleep, just so he didn’t feel alone. I feel like life is really about those small moments, and that’s what makes The Brook of Big Rapids so special. Everyone there is patient, kind, and genuinely treats the residents like family. It means a lot to know my dad is around people who truly care about him. I would 1000% recommend The Brook of Big Rapids as your next home ❤️
I have been looking at different independent living facilities for my dad, and the manager at this one absolutely blew me away with her knowledge of the building. She answered every question with confidence, was incredibly informative, and made the whole experience feel welcoming and comfortable. It’s clear she truly cares about the residents and takes pride in what she does. We also put money down to be on the paid waitlist, and we are hopeful to have him moved in within the next two years. It feels good knowing we found a place where he will be comfortable, cared for, and part of a great community.
Excellent 10 stars, not 5! Staff is a reflection of the manager, Natalie Krantz, who in a nutshell is a 1 in a million human being. Helpful in everyway. My mom was loved & cared for in a way that was impossible to do in her home. The staff is communicative and reassuring from the family's perspective, which is a stress reliever. I would urge you to bring your loved on to the Brook of Big Rapids. Thank you Natalie and staff!
Most amazing place to put a loved one. Staff are fantastic. The manager Natalie Krantz is attentive to needs of residents 24/7. Always educating and training staff and making sure they are giving their best. Natalie is a true leader to staff, people love to work there and the residents adore her. When a facility is run with a manager who is that committed to both, it's a success. When the manager will do any job needed when short staffed and not complain that's a leader. Natalie is a advocate for residents and staff. I've witnessed her walking out the door after working 15 hours and turning around going right back to answer questions for residents and staff regardless if it takes 1 hour or 3. Natalie always puts resident needs first and treats them all with utmost respect. Natalie is an absolute rare find for running this facility and staff. All 15 of the Brooks should model after hers. The owners are wonderful people they are constantly checking facilities to make sure they are run efficiently and listen to staff and residents if they should have a problem. If your hesitant about putting a loved one in a retirement facility, don't be. This is the one you want
My dad was a resident in the Assisted Living section at The Brook of Big Rapids. He was wonderfully cared for by attentive staff who were genuinely compassionate as they provided for his needs. The facility was clean, well-maintained, and offered a home-like feel. Dad loved the good tasting food while enjoying his meal in the dining room with long term friends as well as new found friends. It is obvious that the staff works intentionally to help residents form meaningful relationships and develop a sense of community, often arranging for residents to eat or engage in an activity together. Natalie is an exceptional manager who is invested and involved in every aspect of The Brook, both organizationally and relationally. She and her staff provided the personal touch that enabled my Dad to feel right at home in this residence. My brother and I are thankful for the time our dad was able to live here. We wholeheartedly recommend The Brook for anyone seeking independent or assisted living for their loved one.
