The Meadows of Owosso is great. My mother-in-law was there 2 years. The staff is fantastic! The Meadows really cares about their residents.
My father received outstanding care at the Meadows during his final week of life in hospice care. The environment is beautiful and the staff are both considerate and professional. Thank you.
I grew up in Owosso Michigan, I currently live in Bend Oregon. My parents remained in Owosso, despite trying to urge them to move closer to my sister who lived in Rockford, Illinois or myself. They were in their 80’s and starting to have more health issues and my mother had signs of dementia. My sister and I tried to get them to go into assisted living, but like most elderly people they were very resistant. Then in 2022 my father suddenly died, and we notice my Mom’s dementia was getting at a stage she could be alone anymore, it was not easy to get her to got in, but once she was their, she…

Then in 2022 my father suddenly died, and we notice my Mom’s dementia was getting at a stage she could be alone anymore, it was not easy to get her to got in, but once she was their, she loved and participated in some fun activities she had…her caregiver were excellent and you could tell they loved their patients. If we had concerns or questions…they quick in responding. I am a practicing nurse for 36 years…I was throughly impressed with them!
I grew up in Owosso, and now live in Bend Oregon. I have been a nurse for 36 years in the critical health field. My parents remained in Owosso, they were in their 80’s, still living at home…they were resistant in going to assisted living. My father passed away 2021, it became apparent with my mom having dementia that she no longer could stay home and be safe. When we toured The Meadows, I was so impressed…it was clean, friendly and extremely helpful. After much resistance from my mother’s doctors told her she had no choice and needed to go in. She enjoyed it and was involved in their activity…and and concerns we had about her you could reach out to them any time. She never complain of their care. I highly recommended The Meadows…they care and love their patients.
My mother was at the facility for only a very short stay but the staff was fantastic. Carol, Chris, Lynn the RN and Dr. Larson as well as the others exceeded our expectations. Thank you all!
Meadows of Owosso is quite a new community and very well-staffed. There are four wings, one of which is a locked down memory care. It has a very wide, open meeting space in the middle with a fireplace and couches. They have a lovely dining room where the tables are set with linen table cloths and napkins, and a menu for all three meals. If there's something that the resident doesn't care for, there are substitutions that they are happy to make. The director all the way to the people clean the rooms to the ones who dispense meds to the chef in kitchen, knows everyone and always call my dad by name. They also know my name and my brother's name. They make a real effort to make it very personal and extremely friendly. They have two nurses who are always there, so they have someone available at all times if something happens. All the rooms are private but have different sizes. My dad is in a medium-sized, carpeted room with a bedroom, closet, and large bathroom with a walk-in shower so there's nothing for them to trip over. There's a little kitchenette with a refrigerator and a sink. They can bring their own furnishings, or you can go into a room that's already furnished for you for a price. They assist him with bathing, changing his Depends, administering all the meds he needs, and checking on him just saying hi, how's he doing and would ask if they can get him a snack. He wears a medical alert so if something happens he can press the buzzer. All of the medical staff members have a phone with them, so that if someone rings the buzzer, whoever is closest to that resident's room can go to the room. They're very cautious.
My husband's respite stay here went very well, the staff was friendly attentive and they encouraged him to be a part the different amenities that were offered there. His room was very nice and my husband was free to move about the community, there was a nice courtyard and he felt comfortable here. I would recommend scheduling a tour of this community.
This is a wonderful community, and the staff was fantastic. They are friendly, caring and just plain great! Mom liked her room and loved the food as well as going to the dining room with the other residents. My mom was only here for 6 weeks as she needed more rehabilitation than what they could help her with here but I would recommend setting up a tour it really is a great community.
