I would not recommend this place to anyone. Everyone deserves respect no matter what your position is . Opening doors of residence while they are home without knocking is very disrespectful . What's more disturbing is bringing it to the attention of staff and they do nothing not even offering an apology. The service or lack of service received for seniors is ridiculous. Items have been stolen when residents are away or in other areas of the building. There used to be administrative staff now they are down to one or two people. My mom has been here just over a year now. It's nothing fancy but certainly meets all of her needs. Everyone that works there is very nice and helpful!
This place puts a good look about itself, but they could really care less about you. When you call [name removed],the receptionist is really good and kind but as soon as you get switched to the departments you are trying to get to, the people working here don’t care or even want to be here to help. They just want to do their hours worked and get paid and out of here. I made a bad choice by choosing here and I am going to move to another facility that will in-fact care about the people living there.
I had Sarah and Teira as my leasing agents Both were very knowledgeable and patient. They answered all of my questions. I was a little leary of moving in here and both of them made me feel like I was part of a new family. Just wanted to say that they are doing a great job. Thanks ladies.
This facility allows staff that isn't certified to care for their residents. You should really do background and degree checks before you hire someone. Despicable.
High high rent and it goes up every year. Food was good when we moved in, they had a chef. Been horrible since, more food thrown away than eaten, daily. The bag lunches on holidays are a joke, pathetic really. Then they put in heaters in that only go to 77 degrees (restrictors to save VOW money) even tho residents are charged for electric, apt is freezing. complain daily and most walk around in winter coats in their apts. The power goes out constantly! which is so disruptive for residents with no money off the bill for 4 days of no power....over and over and over. The staff turnover is incredible!! Especially in kitchen dining hall. They advertise a chef but no chef, food is Gordon's garbage. hardly any fresh fruits or veggies....they push the Gordon's desserts to the diabetics. The maintenence are great, front desk people great, but oh so not worth the cost, and a studio apt has room for a twin bed and dresser .. like living in a room small as a prison cell. Our Veterans there deserve better.
Very quiet and family oriented setting. Meals and housekeeping are included in the rent.
What I like best about The Village of Westland is that you can come and go. I can get to my father to help him and visit whenever I want. It's just hard to figure things out. They're not giving us all the information, but everybody's been great. Cleanliness seems fair, but there are some stains in the carpet and the hallway. They have movie nights, exercise, bingo, and special events that come in. The atmosphere is good. Everyone's very friendly and nice. My father just got the studio apartment so it is on the smaller side, but that helps keep the price down. So, the price is fair.
