I recently had the privilege of touring Mariella of Lake Orion, and I was truly impressed from the moment I walked through the doors. The community is absolutely beautiful and has the feel of a luxury hotel lobby while still being warm and welcoming. I had the opportunity to meet with the management team, and it was immediately clear that they genuinely value their residents and are passionate about providing exceptional care. One thing that stood out during my tour was that members of the management team greeted each resident they passed by name. That personal connection speaks volumes about the time, attention, and genuine relationships they build with those who call Mariella home. As a social worker at a local rehabilitation facility, I would wholeheartedly recommend Mariella of Lake Orion to any of my patients or their families who are looking for an assisted living community. My visit left me confident that residents receive compassionate, personalized care in a beautiful and supportive environment.
I commend the management team and care staff for handling the recent mandated evacuation due to a water main break with excellent communication, compassion for all of the residents and families and professional during a crisis situation. I was fortunate that I could care for my mom in my own home. She could not wait to get back “home.” It gave me peace of mind that mom considers Mariella of Lake Orion as her home now. She feels safe, loved and well take care of by everyone there. Thank you to the entire team for all that you do for the residents at Mariella!
This place was great till we had to put my mom into memory care. The care was awful the food was so bad very bad I couldn’t believe some of the meals. I would have to clean my mom’s room and I would have to put her clothes away half of them weren’t hers. They would leave them in baskets in her room for days they would steal my mom’s supplies to use on another resident. I would bring in new throws they would disappear, someone would pee on the couch it smelled like urine when you walked in. I could go on and on Please think twice on putting your loved one in this nasty place. Management is…

Mariella of Lake Orion is a wonderful facility. As a local hospice nurse, I visit several patients there multiple times each week, and I’ve been consistently impressed since day one. The staff is always friendly, welcoming, and eager to help, creating a positive environment every time I walk through the doors. There are too many great team members to mention, but I’d like to especially recognize Cory and Jen in the memory care unit for their hard work, compassion, and excellent communication. Their dedication truly makes a difference, and it shows in the care they provide.
My mother lived here for about six months as she recovered from a brain surgery. We weren't sure if it would be a temporary stay or something longer, and the staff was very accommodating around this. Mariella was a perfect balance of independence and care for my mother. She raved about the food and knew she could always count on the staff to help her when she needed it. We also liked that it is a smaller community so that she felt like a part of a family rather than just a patient number. Everyone greeted her by name and she made several friends with the other residents. The rooms were spacious and common areas lovely and well maintained. Though she is back home again, I would definitely recommend Mariella and will keep it in mind should we need assisted living care in the future.
Our family has been very pleased with the care of my mom. The management team has been attentive to our requests especially when she recently had a set back and her care plan and medications needed adjustment. The care team is always very sweet to her. She looks forward to the live entertainment and the family parties too. Thank you, Mariella, for taking good care of our mom!
Please DO NOT put your loved ones here! The staff is undertrained and lack empathy for residents. The staff could care less about the residents and are very disrespectful. Care staff do as little to nothing for residents that are “too much”and ignore residents needs at times. Management is a joke that act like they care but in reality they only care about the money coming in! They hire people with no experience and try to cover up everything to cover their butts. This place has changed names a handle full of times and have multiple state investigations on them. They can’t keep a Director of wellness in this building as well which is unsafe for residents needing different accommodations. Please if you care about your loved ones do not put them here!
Meals are good and a frequent entertainment but unfortunately the upkeep of the residents rooms via making the beds, emptying the trash leave a lot to be desired. I have mentioned this to the staff many times and they take care of it that that day but the next day it’s back to statice quo.
