They are taking great care of me during my therapy.
The administrator at The Cove is amazing, she went above and beyond her duties to help a client find safe housing. I work with a lot of facilities, I have never had an administrator go above and beyond like this. Thank you!!!
As we walked into the door at The Cove at Lake Woods-Muskegon, the staff was really helpful and friendly. They give us directions on how to get down to the administrator's office. So, that was impressive. Then the coordinator that you spoke to was just outstanding. As we walked the entire length of the facility, we were impressed with the cleanliness, the attentiveness of the staff, and the demeanor of the residents. It seemed like everybody was well taken care of. I didn't see or detect anything that would tell me otherwise. I also like that everything has secure locks on every door. So…

So overall, we were very impressed with this place and if anybody is considering that facility, I would highly recommend it. I didn't get a sense of lack of care in this facility, so I was quite impressed with it.
I gave this place a terrible review a couple months ago and they deleted it. The lady that runs it is actually named Karen and she acts like it too.
The Cove at Lake Woods used to be a plain nursing home and that's the way I see it. The place still smells like urine, which you usually get hit with when you go into a nursing home. The residents and the employees were very friendly. I didn't care for the odor, plus it's pretty expensive for what the accommodations were. We saw one studio that had a kitchenette. The assisted living was right connected to their skilled nursing facility. The dining area was clean, and there was not even a crumb on the floor. The staff was very nice and very accommodating. We were just going to get some pamphlets, and they offered a tour. They had a garden that's landscaped, and it's in a residential area.
As a residential attendant I do everything I can to meet the needs of all my residents they keep us on our toes that's for sure, but I feel blessed no matter how exhausted I am at the end of my shift I leave knowing they were well taken care of and to see the smiles on there faces makes my heart warm right up.
I am happy and satisfied with The Cove at Lake Woods. They post the menu, so the residents know what they are having each day for each meal. If you prefer something else, they try to accommodate it. They are very accommodating. They have an activities director, and they also have a calendar of stuff available. My mom can choose what she would like to go to. They have several common areas that they can go to if they wish.
My mom chose The Cove at Lake Woods because she wants to stay close to the town where my father was buried. It got nursing and assisted living facility. I tried to get her in Iowa and find a facility here, but she elected to stay here. Also given the cost factor, this facility is affordable for her, and I have to admit that this was a good choice for her.
