4.4 · 19 reviewsMy mother has lived at Kinwell since March and I have nothing but good things to say. The facility is attractive and inviting. But most importantly, the staff is friendly, capable, eager to help, and proactive in looking for ways to improve residents' quality of life.
Kinwell at South Lyon is an amazing senior living community with caring staff, a warm atmosphere, and beautiful facilities. The team truly goes above and beyond to make residents feel comfortable, supported, and valued. It’s a wonderful place that gives families real peace of mind. Highly recommend!

I noticed that it was also very clean. I met with the leadership of the facility and this is where I really impressed. Colleen was very personable and knowledgeable about assisted living. Ricketa (the director of nursing) and Beverly her right hand woman are dedicated to helping people and giving them the best senior living experience. My family had a great experience at Kinwell South Lyon. The staff is incredibly friendly and truly cares about the residents, which gave us a lot of peace of mind. The community is clean, welcoming, and there are always activities going on. Overall, a wonderful place and I would definitely recommend it to anyone looking for assisted living or memory care for their loved one.
Kinwell is outstanding. We placed dad at a larger more glamorous setting, though they claimed personal attention, it just meant they would come to his room to remind him of meals. While they had a robust listing of activities, they expected a person with cognitive issues to manage his own schedule. We also had a problem with medications. They called me at 3pm on a Friday to tell me my dad had no more medications. We pulled him out. We then tried a small private group home. While the care, meals and accommodations were outstanding, activities were very limited. When we toured Kinwell my dad loved it and said he did not want to look anywhere else. Kinwell was just right! He has been there since Oct. 2025. His apartment is roomy. Lots of activities, and staff always pop in to see if my dad wants to join. Food is good. They had lovely holiday events that families were invited to. Med staff is fantastic. Even the maintenance staff is supportive. My dad has a bird feeder outside his window. Maintenance kept a path shoveled so that I could refill it without walking through snow. They know every resident and their family members. They keep us updated with excellent communication. We are so happy that my dad is in a safe, caring, homey environment.

I cannot express how much I love this community. From the front desk to the bedside each caregiver is committed to each resident. The building is always clean, well maintained and welcoming.
