River Oaks Assisted Living & Memory Care

This place had good reviews (under previous management) and claimed to be smoking friendly. It is not smoking friendly and they don't have the staff to take residents outside to smoke. There were two changes to management in 6 months, little to no communication between the staff and very poor overall quality of care. On top of the care provided we had one on one visiting angels come most of the time. Without that we would have had to find other arrangements.

The Exec Director ("Exec Dir") left in July 2024, following many others who have left after new management bought it in April 2024. New management (incl. the interim Exec Dir and now the new Exec Dir) have compromised safety and take no ownership when residents are hurt under their care. Although there are some incredible staff still there, there aren't enough of them remaining to make this a safe place for mom. Many of the reviews below are from employees, as opposed to residents and their families. Make sure you're reading the ones from family and residents. Instability will continue as private equity continue to cut costs and get ready for its next sale.

I’d say my favorite thing about River Oaks is the environment. Once you walk in you’re greeted by everyone you walk past. The facility is always clean and the residents are always doing something fun. I check the Facebook page to look for pictures of my mom all the time. A few weeks ago they had an opening day celebration, my mom loved it. It’s definitely different than the other places around! Managers and I are in constant communication and I feel that they’re very involved in making sure my mom’s needs are met.
